Vehicle Detail

For Sale is my 1976 VW Westfalia campmobile type 2 I am a VW enthusiast who is looking to make some garage space for a complete restore of my “Thing” This bus is my current daily driver. It is a reliable, road worth head turner. The interior is in phenomenal condition and the entire camper interior is intact. With some body work and paint this could be a real collectible. The van is completely stock. THE GOODIt comes equipped with the original running 2.0 liter fuel injected type 4 motor. The odometer reads 99,036 and goes up a few miles a day The motor is tied to a 4 speed manual transmission. Comes with the pop top with cot above. As you all know, the back seats fold down into a bed, and the entertainment section is fully equipped with an ice box, sink, and propane stove. The heat ex-changers are intact but the tubing to the front are in need of some TLC, however the heat will still defrost the windshield The driver side of the bus has the hookup for city power and is functioning. THE REALLY GOOD I will be throwing in all my extra parts with the bus if the purchaser desires. I have two engine cases plus a couple cranks and cam shafts. 4 heads and carb setups. I also have a spare transmission from my old 74 camper. THE REALLY REALLY GOOD Structurally the bus is great and.. I HAVE JUST COMPLETED THE FOLLOWING SERVICES FOR THE SALE -Oil change -New distributor cap and rotor -New points and condenser -New plugs and wires -Valve adjustment PLUS....Everything inside is how it should be... less the upgraded radio head unit. It is equipped with cd, ipod, iphone,& usb jacks. NOW YOU BETTER HAVE BEEN EXPECTING THIS PART L THE BAD :( The gas gauge is unreliable and has let me down many a time! The in dash clock is missing (never cared thanks to the radioJ The drivers floor, drivers dog leg, and passenger dog leg have the usual rust. The windshield is cracked and requires replacement and the usual patina is found below the glass. Naturally the windshield replacement will include the seal so that is that. Also the front bumper does have two waves in the top as seen in photos. That should cover the front end of the camper… Now moving down the driver side, the panels have dings and the side skirt has faded, away as well as part of the rear wheel well but the rust has not made its way up the quarter panel. The two rear side signal lenses are lost and not included. Moving to the rear of the transporter the rear hatch and engine compartment doors are in great shape less some minor dings. The bumper is OK but the bottom panel under the bumper(not supportive) has some usual rust. As we make our final loop rounding the vehicle on the passenger side we will first gaze upon or matching missing signal light and our rear quarter panel who lies in much better shape then the opposing side with little to no rust found in the wheel well. The sliding door functions well and no rust there either however the side skirt has been plagued. All four sneakers have 75+% tread however I am beginning to see cracks on the side walls so I don’t want to NOT mention it. Finally topping of the exterior is the fiberglass roof. The roof does not leak however does show spider web cracking. When popped the original canvas is torn in the front by the screen and needs to be sewn or replaced. I have included many super-sized photos in the ad so you can see everything. Please feel free to ask any question and I will respond promptly. I can be contacted by phone or text @ 617-966-4664 and ask for Tom The car is located in North Jersey and I have the vehicle listed for sale locally.
