The La Grange Police Department is selling ONE 1984 Blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo Coupe (2-door) with a mileage of 83,440 miles. The vehicle would be great for a restoration project!!! This is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it must be sold in an auction-style setting such as eBay. There is no Buy-It-Now option. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and with no existing warranty. The vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder after the starting price has been satisfied (no reserve). The vehicle has been in inside storage since 2006 and has not been running. The vehicle has some small and some medium-sized rust spots throughout the vehicle, specifically on the wheel wells, roof, doors, body, etc (see photographs). The vehicle has driver's-side 1/4 panel damage (fender) as well as the front bumper. The driver's-side door lock does not work. The rear view mirror is off and inside the vehicle. The front bumper has small cracks in it. The vehicle appears to be leaking brake fluid. The vehicle appears to need new suspension on the front and the rear. There may be slight frame damage to the vehicle-unknown. The vehicle appears to have an inexperienced paint job. The interior will either need to be cleaned or restored if not replaced all together. The vehicle was running in good condition when it was first seized. It is unknown what kind of running condition it is currently in, however, our village mechanic did start the vehicle several months ago to repair a belt and possibly a trans leak (trans not currently leaking). We were told by the last owner that a new engine had just been placed in the vehicle when we seized it. The vehicle has an AM/FM stereo cassette, unknown if in working order. The vehicle has air conditioning, unknown if in working order. It is unknown if all lights, horn, electrical components are working. Again, the vehicle would be a great restoration project!!!
