Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition with a 4.7 V8. I am re-listing this because the winner bidder could not follow through on the purchase of this vehicle. Please if you do not intend on purchasing the vehicle, don't bid. This Jeep belongs to a friend of mine who has owned it for quite a while. About 1 1/2 years ago the engine began to make a clattering sound. My friend asked me to drive it and give him my opinion. Since I had done some maintenance on his vehicle I had some history with it, but the times I would drive it, it would never make the sound, but it was running a little rough. We took it to a small shop and he did a compression check on the the front left cylinder and found that the compression was weak. He then pulled the intake manifold and valve cover gasket on the left side and found that the rocker arm had worked loose, but the end of both valves can be seen so it hasn't dropped a valve. The shop said that it needed a complete rebuild on the engine. I told my friend that you would at least need to pull the heads if you wanted to be sure rather than just fixing the rocker arm. It sat at the shop for a while and my friend decided to buy another car. I had it towed to my house and I was going to do the head work for him. Unfortunately I was involved in an accident and was not able to do the work. The Jeep has been sitting at my house for over a year, and my friend just asked me to sell it just as it is. I believe you can see from the pictures that the Jeep is in good shape, its a southern car so it has absolutely no rust on it. The Jeep has tinted windows all the way around. The paint is good as well as the leather interior. I washed it off to take pictures of it, so it could use some detailing As you can see from the pictures, one wheel is the spare tire. The owner hit a curb and cracked the rim and that is the one that is in the Jeep in the spare tire compartment. In my opinion, this would be an easy fix for someone with the basics skills. The car was not running hot and was driving fine, so I believe for a few hundred dollars someone could fix this and have a nice car to drive. Unfortunately, I can't at this point. He has put a reasonable reserve on it and if you live within 50 miles of my zip code, 30043, a northern suburb of Atlanta, I have a truck and a trailer with a winch and I will be glad to deliver it to you for free according to my work schedule. If you have any questions please feel free to email me and I will answer them as promptly as I can. If you have zero feedback please email me before you bid. With this vehicle being the condition it is, it is being sold "as is" and with no implied warranty.
