Vehicle Detail

Selling due to too many projects and too little time! REAL DEAL 138 CODE 1967 Chevelle SS 396 2dr Hardtop. This car was found in a barn about 5 years ago, and had been undergoing restoration when the owner unfortunately passed away. By this point, the car had all new floor pans installed, the entire chassis restored and painted, and a freshly re-built authentic L72 COPO 427 sitting between it's fenders. It is possible that this car could have been a dealer installed COPO car, it was being restored this way. The body, which was solid to begin with, had been sand blasted and was ready for final body work and paint. This is how the car was found. Before we purchased the car, the previous owners who found the car removed the COPO 427 and installed it in another car. That engine is no longer with the car. Since it was found 5 years ago, the bare metal body has gathered some very light surface rust. This car is a project that has already had a lot of work done, and comes with many original parts. BODY: The body is super straight and very solid. The rockers are excellent. There is some rust along the bottom edge of the rear quarters, and a little on the bottom rear edge of the front fenders. The bottoms of the doors are very solid, with only a little rust on the lower corners. The doors slam shut perfect. The floor pans are all new and welded in. The trunk has rusted out, however there are full replacement pans fitted in the trunk ready to be welded in. There is also a little rust down behind the rear window in the typical spot. This was a vinyl roof car originally. It comes with two original '67 SS hoods, the one pictured off the car is in better shape. Also included are two decent bumpers, front and rear, as well as many original stainless trim pieces. The front windshield is missing, but the rest of the glass is in great condition, and there is a spare rear windshield that goes with the car. CHASSIS: The entire chassis was gone through at the time the car was being restored. The frame is perfect. No rust underneath, and infact everything is still painted a fresh coat of black. The chassis on this car excellent front to back. Also included is a set of correct, nice conditon 14x6" steel wheels. DRIVETRAIN: The original factory GM TH400 Automatic transmission is included (condition unknown, but it looks very clean), and the car is equipped with it's original 12 Bolt GM rear. Available to the winning bidder at additional cost is a 1968 396 that has already had $4,000+ invested in it. The block is bored .030 over and freshly machined. It comes with Forged TRW L2328 pop-up pistons, Forged 4340 Scat 26135 I-Beam connecting rods, a fresh machined cast crank, and all new high performance bearnings. Also included is a set of '68 oval port closed chamber heads (cores). This engine is available to the winning bidder for an additional $2,000 if interested. INTERIOR: There are no seats or door panels present. The original dash is intact with gauges and the steering wheel, and the original console is also present and in good condition. A spare dashboard is also included, and is a rare Air Condition dash with openings on either side for AC vents. This is a chance to own a very desireable and highly sought after muscle car. There are many Chevelles out there, but how many are true SS cars? Prices of restored '67 SS cars can reach as high as $70,000. This car is a great restoration project that just needs someone to finish it up. We had fully intended to do this, but just have too many other projects going on. Feel free to contact Greg with any questions at 860-873-1092, or cell 860-575-8998. The car is located in East Haddam, Connecticut, and is sold on a bill of sale. It is not currently registered, and came to us with no title.
