These 80 series models are super dependable and with a full time 4x4 drive train can cover some ground. This is a 40th anniversary model that carried a retail price tag of over $41,000 back in 1997. These trucks are set up with options that most vehicles are just now seeing 15 years later. The 4.5 liter inline 6 is running well and the automatic transmission shifts well. These trucks have an abs brake system and have disc brakes all the way around. The 4 wheel drive system is always in high range and shifts into low with no problems at all. The ground clearance is just shy of 11 inches, even in stock form this is a great off-roader. I understand most potential buyers will not like the previous owners' taste in wheels. I am with you 100%. But, I have decided to keep them on, as most of these sweet 80 series I see on the road have aggressive tires or wheel packages that suit the current owner’s needs. So... I just discounted the price, and the new owner can sell these current choppers on ebay or craigslist when they get the wheels they want.
