Vehicle Detail

This is an amazingly original, low mile & exceptionally well kept 944. There are plenty of 944s out there, but not many with this few miles, and perhaps none on the market in this condition. Don't be fooled by many early 944 examples (1983-1985.5) that claim super low miles. Their 5 digit odometers have almost all rolled over - and it's usually obvious once you actually drive one. This car has been Porsche enthusiast owned, and always maintained as such. Other than a few occasional and typical stone chips, the car is near perfect and as new. The paint, leather, carpet, headliner, etc. all look like a 2 or 3 year old car. This 944 fires right up (new battery) every time, and runs like a top. The timing belt has just been checked, and appears as new as well. Great heat, cold A/C. Decklid struts work, even the original radio and clock still work. This car is not a Pebble Beach Concours piece, it has been carefully driven and exercised through the years, but it would be difficult for any realistic enthusiast to find much fault. There are many known traits that make the 944 a great driver's car. Especially the much improved '87 and on models, with much more modern amenities than their early counterparts. These cars benefit from a front (water cooled) engine, and a rear mounted transaxle, which provides a near perfect 50/50 weight balance, for incomparable handling. The 160HP 4 cylinder engine is robust, reliable, and plenty healthy. And approx. 30mpgs is hard to beat in this day and age - especially in a car that is so much fun to drive! There were not many good and cool cars of the '80s. Many of the few that were, were used -and even abused, and driven into the ground. The collective opinion of the collector car community, is that as the great cars of the '60s & '70s break through the stratosphere, and out of range of the casual enthusiast (have you seen what early 911s are doing in the market??), the few worthy cars of the '80s will begin to take off in value. The Porsche 944 is an iconic symbol of the decade of excess, and this example is as pure and clean as you will find anywhere. This is an immpeccable 'turn key' example. No issues, no stories, just get in, spin key, hit the open road and go. I encourage all potential buyers to come inspect the car in person prior to buying or bidding. Your bid is a binding contract. Feel free to call me with any questions or for more information. Car condition is subjective. I have owned over 100 Porsches, and am picky about my cars, but potential owners should decide for themselves if this car is for them. Car is sold AS IS, WHERE IS. I can help with very reasonable domestic shipping arrangements, but transportation is ultimately the responsibility of the buyer. International bidders are welcome, but please have U.S. funds and transportation arranged prior to auctions end. Zero or negative feedback bidders please contact me prior to bidding or your bid may be cancelled. Please only bid or offer if you are serious. Finally, feel free to email or call me at 574-361-5315 with any questions, more details, or if you'd like to make an offer. Good luck!
