Selling my 1955 Studebaker 4 door sedan due to my wife not being able to find work as a teacher and Christmas is coming. I have owned the car since 1997 and have driven it everywhere. I bought it off of the Sloop family in Topeka, Kansas who bought it new. I bought it off of Mrs. Sloop. The car has had Midas exhaust installed. Single exhaust currently, but it came from the factory with dual exhast. The car has had an amateur repaint at some point in its life. The paint is really thin on the front fenders. The trunk lid has some rippling above the trunk handle: I'm not sure why. The glass is good save for the passenger side window, but it is flat glass. The trunk is solid. The floors have been patched but are in good shape. The motor runs fine. Transmission leaks oil but shifts fine. It has never had anything done to it since I've had it other than regular maintenance: oil changes; brakes; etc. I replaced all of the brake lines and hoses about three years ago. The front tires need replaced. The interior is rough. I have the factory radio and it worked when I took it out. All lights and gauges work except one of the turn signal indicator lights. Chrome is pitted but still shines up pretty well. The horn doesn't work: needs a relay. This is the best car I've ever owned. It is in fair shape for a car built in 1955. I wouldn't hesitate driving the car home, but it might be a better idea to trailer it. I hate to get rid of this car, but like I said: the holidays are here.
