Exterior: With factory removable targa roof and “Boxer” style red/black paint, the buttery finish oozes character and displays a patina that is irreplaceable. This fabulous specimen looks to have been kept in a well-ventilated, dry garage and never exposed to any traffic hazards. Sure, you might be able to restore a rusty or damaged car, but you can't bring back originality for all the money in the world. It's priceless! And yes, the paint is still very glossy, irrefutable proof of the sheltered life this 308 has led for over 30 years. A straight body is a hallmark of unmolested originality. No need to hunt for costly metric tires. The removable targa roof looks spectacular and fits tight as a drum with no leaks or wind noises. When removed, it stores conveniently behind the seats. This is what a fine Euro-spec 308 tail is supposed to look like: Chromed dual exhaust tips, bright lenses, dry, undamaged sheet metal, even underneath. Surveying the car's straight and smooth coachwork today, we marvel at every minute detail. In fact, with little preparation, this fine example of the marque could be proudly displayed at a local car show or Concours d'Elegance We'll inspect the interior next, shall we? The 308's interior presents very well. From the leather-covered, aluminum steering wheel to the supple, leather bucket seats; everything is in a wonderfully preserved state, without any cracks or dryness. No significant wear, fading or cracking is a sure-fire indication of a low-mileage Ferrari that has always been protected from the elements. Power windows operate but are very slow going up and down. The fascinating array of gauges and switches seem to be gleaned from a period aircraft.
