Normal 0 The fastest production motorcycle in 1979 6 cylinders of raw power! To this day its one of the top ten fastest bikes! This example still has the Japanese air in its original tires. The epitome of Honda’s motorcycle engineering! (my humble opinion) Was looking for parts for my cbx….guy says;” we have what you want, need to buy the whole bike to get it…….so….took a look at it and couldn’t believe it…the proverbial barn find. What I liked most about the bike was that it was unmolested. The previous owner most likely experienced carburetor issues, parked it and forgot about it. It needed a new tank, something had fallen over on it in storage, found an installed a new old stock tank. The seats vinyl was torn, so, imported a new seat from England. Any way the bike is on display in my music store. I can officially deem it a showpiece. It’s an 8 out of 10. Cleaned it up a bit and the carbs have been rebuilt. The battery has been replaced and the brakes have been reconditioned. The bike has not been started up. Everything checks out. The compression is a bit low from having not been run in about 20 years. Tims CBX suggested it be run for a bit before checking the compression again. It’s been on display…I don’t want to put gasoline in it. These old bikes always need something; tires are one of those things. I kept the old ones on it just to keep it as original as I could. Yes, it still has the original Honda exhaust. The only non-original-stock item is the seat. Clear title with no issues in my name. Will be posting more photos. For sale locally, so.... The oil and filter were also changed, Marvel Mystery Oil was added with the oil change.
