The La Grange Police Department is selling a Blue 2001 Kia Rio 4-door with a mileage of 81,965. This is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law: it MUST be sold in an auction-style format such as eBay. There is no Buy-It-Now option. The vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder after the starting price is satisfied (no reserve). The vehicle has manual door locks/windows. The vehicle has air conditioning. The vehicle does not have an AM/FM stereo. The vehicle has not been running since March 2010, so it is unknown if all electrical components/accessories/lights are in working condition. The vehicle shows normal signs of wear-n-tear about the exterior with no major damage. The interior cloth seats will need to be cleaned and are in fair condition. The tires are in fair condition. The following problems should be noted about the vehicle that we are aware of: The vehicle has a broken gas line, which has temporarily been repaired. The vehicle has a "slipping" transmission and a "knock" in the motor when first started back in 2010. The vehicle will need an oil change, tune-up, and brakes. Again, the vehicle has not been started since 2010, so it is unknown if there are any other mechanical problems. The vehicle (again) is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law through an auction-style setting. There is no Buy-It-Now option and is being sold AS IS and with NO existing warranty, neither express nor implied. Buyer beware due this being a forfeited vehicle; we do not know a whole lot about it. The winning bidder is responsible for the pick up of the vehicle or making arrangements with a private shipping service at their own expense. Due to the vehicle being sold AS IS and with NO existing warranty, we suggest potential bidders view the vehicle in person as there may be defects or undetected problems we are not aware of. Bidders may have an independent inspection of the vehicle at their own expense prior to bidding. All sales are FINAL and there will be no price adjustment given.
