There is NO BUY IT NOW and we do NOT end auctions early.......you must bid to buy. **Item for sale:1985 Toyota 4x4 standard bed, regular cab 4x4 truck with the RARE National Travelers Conversion Package and only 40,000 ORIGINAL MILES!! Here is the story/history behind this truck as I am told by the Estate Manager where I purchased it from: Previous owner was the original owner and was the owner of a new Toyota dealership in the 80's. He had purchased this truck for himself and then sent it out west for the "National Travelers" Conversion package which consisted of lift, wider Turbine wheels with off road tires, striping package, rollbar, deluxe carpeting and a cloth seat upgrade. This vehicle was a garaged "toy" for this Gentleman and was only driven in nice weather and used for demonstration purposes at shows and events. This truck was supposedly garaged for good in the 90's and was rarely driven after that. Old inspections stickers show that it has been driven less than 75 miles in the last 3-4 years. It was only taken out every so often to be driven/used a little, inspected and to get serviced. In 2002 he had the shocks replaced with Ranchos and the tires were all replaced. In 2009 at the last inspection is also when it had its last service with all fluids, lube and filters, etc.....Truck has been parked it climate controlled garage ever since and owner has recently passed away. There was little information found on the net about this rare conversion package but I am told by some Toyota guys in different forums that it was a high end package in its day and very few Toyotas were ever built/converted and there are very few still in existence...........probably NONE with 40,000 ORIGINAL MILES!!! **Options and Accessories: 22R-4 cylinder, 5 speed manual, am-fm-cd with speaker boxes behind seat (only aftermarket things noticed which were done by a nephew who was to inherit this truck but did not). All conversion/package options as listed above. **Mileage: ORIGINAL MILES......40,850 +/- for accompanied test drives. **Title Status: Clean and clear title being held for new buyer. **Interior Condition: Very nice, clean and looks great!! Very minor wear/stains from some light use/age but all in all excellent shape!! **Body Condition: EXCEPTIONALLY ORIGINAL, solid, straight and clean/rust free body!! No signs of rot, rust or repairs or bondo. Bed floor like new......barely used to haul anything, nice bed sides, doors and door bottom edges, rockers, door sills, fenders, hood/hood lip, wheel wells, etc......AWESOME CONDITION and ORIGINAL!! Inner door jambs, sills and hinge areas are perfect......IN FACT, the original manufacturers door/vin/production plate is still perfect in tact AND SO IS THE RARE, NATIONAL TRAVELER CONVERSION Sticker!! Tailgate is awesome as well as the inner gate, hinges and rear bed floor!! Awesome condition folks!! **Paint Condition: Also EXCEPTIONAL and ORIGINAL as far as I can see......NO signs of repaint or touch upped areas. Door jambs, sills, seams, etc......all appear as original and super nice condition. Exceptional shine, minimal fade noticed anywhere, no real scratches or dings noticed, etc......just way exceptional considering age and originality. Under the hood still shows the original "rustproofing" they did in the 80's!! Beautiful truck folks!! **Underneath Condition: Again, super solid and clean.....very well kept after, cleaned up and sealed on a regualr basis by a detailer. Solid mounts, floors, bed floor like new, solid frame with no patches, welds or rot!! Super clean and solid. **Tire Condition: Still like new. All matching and have very low miles on them since installed. **Running/Driving Condition: Starts right up and runs super!! Idles smooth and quiet, revs up strong and runs just like a 22R should! Transmission and clutch work perfectly and have no slipping, grinding, popping out of gears or looseness to them.....nice shifting! Truck runs, drives and handles like it did in 1985!! Solid ride, good power and a fun one to drive.....brings back memories!!!! Normally, I would state that driving a 27 year old truck like this any long distance would be a finger crosser but I feel very comfortable in saying that I personally would not be afraid to drive this truck ANYWHERE!!! It is no smooth riding Cadillac or a turbo charged speed demon but it really runs and drives great and I see no issues at all driving it anywhere!! No leaks noticed, no overheating issues at all and no problems noticed in the 30-40 miles I drove it home. I am giving a 3 MONTH C.A.R.S. Protection Plus Powertrain Warranty with this sale! No charge to you, good anywhere in the U.S. and good at any garage of your choosing should you have a mechanical failure. 3 months/4500 miles of warranty coverage.....free to the buyer/winning bidder!
