This is car is a fantastic example and reminder of great German engineering. The interior is done in bamboo leather with dark wood dash and trim, the carpet is large cable loop that gives the car a very solid and clean finished look. The wood is crack free and still has a dark color void of any sun damage or fading. All the switches and latches work and are made of sturdy materials that can easily be replaced if needed. The AC blows cold air, the tires, shocks, front and back brakes, motor mounts, hood pad and climate control system are all new. The front wind shield has been replaced along with the gasket for both front and back. The windows have been tinted a golden brown color, which, really looks great with the Manila Beige paint (code 684), paint is original, the color looks like butter scotch. One small dent in front driver side quarter panel behind the head light. The car was a one owner car before I purchased it and has been in rust free southern California its entire life. The odometer has 234 thousand miles on it but the car runs and handles like a much newer vehicle. All the original books are included, however, there are no service records. There is evidence of some factory motor work, possibly a new head gasket or timing chain, this is noted by the lead badge on front of cylinder head (see picture #9). The car lacks air bags and ABS but Mercedes was concerned with safety and crumple zones long before many other automakers. The car has a serious presence on the highway in terms of sheer bulk. The car offers economy, durability, affordability, comfort and class all for well under $10K. Happy Bidding and happy motoring.
