Vehicle Detail
1987 4-door sedan. Approx. 180,000 miles. 258, automatic, Select-Drive, 2.35 diff. I bought the car just over six years ago with 60-70,000 on it. At about 120,000 I swapped in an engine from a 1982 sedan with 80,000. I kept the 87 intake and exhaust, but swapped in the non-computer BBD. Soon after I put a new used catalytic converter in. Just recently I put that transmission in. At about 170,000 I swapped in an axle from a 1986 wagon with almost 90,000 after I lost a wheel, everything was gone over, with new brakes, lines, cables, and a new pinion seal. About two years ago, I had some rust in the metal inner fender/shock tower patched, and the driver's side floor patched. The floor patch is a little off, it doesn't rest on the subframe, but it is solid. There is also a little rust through the trunk floor above the rear wheel wells on both sides. I believe the rust has returned under the front fender, but it is repairable, although it is causing a little flex as you steer. The front driver's side door is dinged. I have a replacement included. The driver's side rear took a hit sometime before I bought the car, but it is not very noticeable, I straightened the bumper bracket and replaced a cracked tail light. There is also slight damage where the back driver's side tire rubbed when I lost it. There is an aftermarket aluminum cover on the engine. The cooling system is top notch, the hoses are all less than two years old, and the lower radiator hose was put on this spring. It has a new thermostat and heavy duty water pump. The heavy duty radiator and heavy duty fan clutch are just a few years old. All four brakes are good and recently replaced. The master cylinder is new, and the brake lines have all been replaced over the time I have owned the car. The fuel lines are new, and the tank was cleaned and patched several years ago. The sending unit is new, but the gauge bounces in the dash. The transfer case shifts and works well. The shocks are good, but were installed just after I bought the car six years ago. There are lots of miles left on the 205/75R15 tires. It has a front anti-sway bar, and only 23-30,000 on the front halfshafts. The lower ball joints were replaced in 2009, and the uppers just after I bought the car. The exhaust is all fairly new, having been all replaced in the last 4 years, although a leak has just recently appeared. I'm leaving the Pioneer CD/MP3 stereo in it, with two Pioneers in the front. It sounds great.
