Up for sale is my 1991 BMW 318iS. The vehicle is in excellent condition for it's age. The car has 177k miles on the body. The engine has 135k, the old engine was replaced with this one from another 318iS. We checked the compression, it is excellent for it's age. The exterior is nice and straight, no dents. It's all original paint, which is still in good shape, but there are a few flaws:The paint on the hood is fading and has small cracks in the paint. The right front fender had some surface rust on it, so it was replaced with an original black fender, it's darker than the original diamond black color of the rest of the body. The right side of the car's paint is a little faded.The left side of the car has great paint, has a nice shine to it. You can repaint the hood and fender, buff out the faded areas and it should look pristine. This vehicle has absolutely NO rust on the underside of the car. NO rust on the frame/chassis. There is a spot of rust on the right rear fender, about the size of a finger. There is some on the left front fender, but that can be replaced (comes with an extra fender in the trunk). See the pictures, I tried to show all of the flaws. The interior is in pristine condition. The Recaro seats are original and in mint condition. The leather shows little to no wear. There is a TINY crack in the driver's seat (see pictures) and some small wear on the side bolster. Passenger's side seat is mint. The rear bench is in great condition, there is a spot of color fade in the middle. Power windows, they both work perfectly. ***The gauges shown in the picture are not included with the car*** The car has 177k miles on the body. This car recently had a full service done, and every component was checked over by Jake Sweeney BMW. Fuel lines, spark, compression, timing, etc was all checked out by BMW. Everything works perfectly. Here is a list of what was done to the car:- ALL new hoses- ALL new coolant distributor lines- new camshaft position sensor- new crankshaft position sensor- new head gasket cover seal- new thermostat sensor- wiring harness replaced with refurbished one- oil flush and change- coolant flush and change The bad: The car sat on my driveway for two years before I started her back up a month ago and took her in to Jake Sweeney BMW to get all this work done. Because it sat in the driveway, some of the rubber seals became worn because of the sun. There is a tiny oil leak due to a small seal, nothing to be worried about. The right rear wheel bearing needs to be replaced. It's making noise. The shifting could be crisper. Probably because of worn linkage. Needs new headlight bulbs. the outer bulbs work, the inner do not. Overall, this vehicle is a great example of the legendary BMW E30 model. Just a few fixes and she'll be perfect.
