Vehicle Detail
For sale is this extremely rare 1958 Chevrolet Nomad. 1958 was the first year of the 4 door ONLY Nomad. I have a clear Colorado rebuiders title in my name only with no liens that is transferrable to any state. A rebuilders title is a special type of Colorado title issued to only historically significant or other special vehicles meeting a long list of criteria. A rebuilders title cna be turned into a regular title once the vehicle is deemed roadworthy. This car has almost zero rust in the outside sheetmetal. There is a very small spot on the very right rear quarter under the bumper and a liitle bit on the inside bottom of the rear tailgate, and some on the lower drivers door as shown. The front 4 floorpans are rusted through and need replaced but the transmission tunnel portion is fine as is the firewall area. The rear pan and spare wheel area is pristine. The lift gate has no rust anywhere. There is heavier surface rust on the underside of the roof that will need blasted off. All of the roof headliner bows are there. All of the seats lay down and are still original material that obviously need redone. The frame is in perfect condition. The dash has been replaced with a Biscayne donor dash (which is identical to that of an Impala but with different trim which I have). I have the original Impala interior trim and the original radio is in place. The steering wheel is also Biscayne and should be Impala. The side glass and rear glass is all very good. Needs a windshield and some flat door glass. Drivers front door has a dent in it that needs work as does the passenger rear door. It will need Impala spear mouldings for the front fenders which are easily obtained. I have all of the inside door panel trim and windshield trim as well as inside window frame trim. All of the Nomad specific tail gate trim is there. The 283 in this vehicle is not the one born with this Nomad but came from the same 58 Biscayne as the other donor parts. It runs very well with no smoke and no lifter noise, etc. The carburetor will need rebuilt. The transmission does not work so this car will need loaded onto a trailer or roll back truck for removal. I would just replace the powerglide with a good TH350. I have no idea if this was an original 348 or 283 car from the factory. All I know is that the "F" in the VIN designates it as a V8 car and not a 6 cylinder. This would be the ultimate restomod project or rat rod project for the winter ahead! You will likely be the only person in your STATE with one of these! All shipping charges are the responsibility of the winner. I will be available to help load it.
