This 240D is an authentic 1 Owner car with 91,000 original miles. We have the original title issued in 1979. Has been garaged it's entire life and it shows. Original paint is nice and shiny. The car runs and drives beautifully. Transmission shifts great. Clutch is light and engages where it should. Motor starts right up on cold starts and has plenty of power. Steering is tight and responsive. Tracks down the road wonderfully. The car has not been smoked in, had pets, or kids inside. Interior is as clean as they come and appears to be 100% original. We took this 240D to a well respected local diesel Mercedes specialist to get it looked over before placing it for sale. He performed a valve adjustment, checked timing chain, purged injection system, installed a new fuel filter, inline fuel filter, a new battery, and 4 injectors. The car then received a light interior/exterior detail as it was already in outstanding condition. Vacuum power door locks work great. The original Becker Europa AM/FM Radio works great. Power antenna no longer works. Air Conditioning does not work currently but mechanic said it should work no problem with a charge. We did not charge it because the required R12 refrigerant is expensive and hard to find. Comes with a photocopy of the original bill of sale from Rasmussen Mercedes of Portland as well as all the original books including some vintage Mercedes Benz literature which may be hard to find. The trunk has the original rubber mat and the carpeted mat that goes on top. There is a box with extra maintenance items including brake pads, filters, serpentine belts, headlight, light bulbs, etc. Also a repair manual in German. You can see in one of the pictures there is residue where the previous owner would place a piece of masking tape noting when the next oil change was due. He told us he changed the oil every 3000 miles. The residue could probably be cleaned a lot better but we did not want to damage the dash by using the wrong chemicals. The one modification that has been made to this car is an OEM side view mirror installed on the passenger side. In the pictures you can see where the owner installed an aftermarket mirror onto the passenger fender before installing the OEM mirror. However, it is not very noticeable.
