Tired of high gas prices? This little car is for you. This is a 2000 Honda Insight gasoline / electric hybrid with a 5spd manual transmission. The 5 spd is very desirable with the hyper miler crowd, you can squeeze out the most MPG's with the 5spd and the correct driving technique. This car can easily achieve 60+MPG!!!! I personally average mid 50's but I do all my driving in town, short trips. The car is super clean, interior is very clean with only slight wear showing on the drivers seat. It has 192k miles on it. This car has been well maintained, brakes are like new, tires are like new, clutch feels great and the transmission shifts smooth with no issues (lots of these have transmission issues, but not this one). It also has power windows and door locks with remote keyless entry and two key fob remotes. The car has A/C and it is ice cold. The biggest thing I see with these cars for sale on the web, is that almost all of them have had the IMA light on or had a battery replaced by a now defunct battery rebuilder. I just put a brand new IMA High Voltage battery in this car (9/7/12) from ReInvolt Technologies. www.re-involt.com It is one of their "Advanced IMA" batteries ($2600 + shipping and installation and tax = $3400 value!!) the battery comes with a full 3 year unlimited mile warranty. This warranty will transfer to you and I will give you the paperwork for it. The warranty is only on the IMA High Volt battery itself, the rest of the car is sold as is, but if you have done your homework, you will see that the battery is the most expensive part of the car. I also just replaced a transmission mount, front sway bar links, installed a new windshield and wiper blades. This car is ready to drive anywhere. Many have asked about the history of this car. Here it is as I know it. First of all I am not a dealer, I am an ASE Certified Master Technician and an ACDC Qualified Master Hybrid Tech, I repair these things for a living. I have a clean Ohio title for the car that is in my name. I am the third owner of the car ever and second this year. I had a guy come into the shop a few months ago and told me about this car and that he was interested in purchasing it from the original owner. I informed him about the in's and out's of the car and what potential problems it might have. He ended up buying it with the intent of repairing any problems himself, once he figured out that it needed an IMA battery he was not willing to go any further with it. Plus, while he had it someone cracked the front windshield and broke out the passenger side window. So he came back to me and said he was in over his head and asked if I wanted buy it. I did, and immediately put in the new IMA battery, new windshield, new passenger door glass, new sway bar links, new transmission mount, changed the oil and gave it a full inspection. I have been driving it ever since with absolutely no issues at all, this car can be driven anywhere in the country. The auto check shows an accident with an animal back in 2002, I suppose it was a deer hit. The car looks good and there are no lasting signs of the accident, although I have no documentation or knowledge of the accident I would venture to say it was fairly minor. The car is really clean underneath, most likely garaged. Unfortunately I do not have any service records for the car other than what I have done to it. I can say that I have worked on and driven a number of these and this is the cleanest and best driving Insight I have ever driven. Please let me know if you have any questions at all about the car.
