Up for bid is a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Limited Estate Wagon with just 46k one owner miles. Collector's Edition just like every other '96 Roadmaster built. Lifelong Texas car - Dallas through '05, then Padre Island when owner retired there. Loaded up with power everything. Boasting GM's Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power and the 2.93 limited slip rear end (GW9 and G80 build codes) maximize traction to the pavement. Trailer preparation "tow package" equipped - car rated to pull 5000 but has no hitch as it's never towed (despite trailer prep name, these did not come from the factory with hitches.) Car available for showing in Mt. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Newer battery & good charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully as expected of low miles. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. Shifts perfectly. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is very straight and solid. Some minor dings are evident low on the left quarter and on the window frame of the right front door. Above average. Paint: Paint is very nice and shiny with no major issues - a couple touch-up spots on hood above headlights, some minor rock chips consistent with age. Also above average. Wood: Upper fake wood trim was all removed, sanded and painted so it isn't flaking like most do at this age. Wood applique siding is very nice with a couple small nicks, worst is seen in pics on right rear quarter just forward of the taillight. Other: Lower stainless bright trim has a couple small dings but still nice for age. Front bumperette has a nick but front and rear plastic bumpers are crack-free. Rubber side trim is all present. Glass is all nice with no rock chips or cracks but windshield is original and delaminating at edges as these Sungates tend to do at this age. Undercarriage is solid with minor surface rust showing from Padre humidity. Minor rust in tailgate sill as seen in pics, but no rust in door jambs. Aluminum wheels are in good shape with some light delamination of the plastic coating. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in exceptionally nice shape as expected of miles. Carpets are nice and clean without wear, dash has no cracks, door panels are in good shape. Driver's seat has light wear consistent with lower miles, all other seats are like new. Headliner is in great shape. Steering wheel is in great shape. No smoke odors - non-smoker's car. Even the multi-function switch still shows the cruise "OFF-ON-RES" lettering clearly. Very nice interior overall; better than average. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, button horn, wipers, etc.) ALL the power stuff works properly including power windows, power locks, dual power seats with power recliners, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm cassette, power antenna, rear window release, rear wiper, keyless entry, twilight sentinel, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. Auto leveling works properly, too. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out beautifully. Steering is tight, suspension is tight, and alignment is good. Brakes work well with good linings. Tires are a matched set of radials with about 80% tread remaining all around. Solid, quiet exhaust with no leaks. Limited slip works properly and rear end is quiet. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - jump in and drive anywhere.
