Vehicle Detail
Hi I am selling my 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro with 20 valve turbo engine upgrade. I purchased the coupe GT in December 2004 in Florida, flew down there and drove the car back to Michigan. That was it's only winter drive, it was parked after that to start gathering the parts for the swap. I found locally a 1994 S4 that was rear ended, purchased it as the donor car. The car had just about 79K miles. I took the coupe and engine to a local Audi mechanic in January 05 ,that after doing the timing belt service on the engine, replacing the clutch, steering rack ( I figured it would be easy to do with no engine in the car and why take the chance to have to do it a few month after project completion) rear diff mounts, installed the AAN engine in the car. Now it was time to take the car to a local builder to have the downpipe made and matted to the exhaust, installed the Dahlback intake manifold, make the fuel rail, all aviation style lines, install the hi-flow intercooler and make the custom aluminium piping for it. A Ron Davis hi flow radiator was installed in the car. Once all that was done, the only thing left was to make the 2 harness be happy with each other, A good friend of mine BMW Master mechanic did the work, he installed the S car ECU in the glove box and matted the 2 harnesses, cutting and sodering all wires. Since the car was from Florida, he has no rust whatsoever, but the dash was cracked, so I had him replace it during the wiring process. Once the project was concluded, a few last minutes things had to be handled, small leak in a power steering hose, relocation of POS. And then time to enjoy the car. It has been very fun to drive and reliable I am sure I am forgetting a few things, it was a long project, but made the car the way Audi should have sold them in this country. Beside the engine upgrade here is a list of other work done: Conversion of hood and fenders to later 90 models, RS2 front bumpers and lights, H&R springs ( Green) and Bilsteins, upgraded brakes with cross drilled rotors, SS lines and better pads, downpipe wrapped in heat protective material, K&N air filter, new radio, new tires, ABT wheels, Momo steering wheel. Also as mentionned above, the clutch, sterring rack, engine/trans/dif mounts were replaced. the car was only driven a few thousand miles since the built was finished in 09 ( body has about 160K miles on it, engine 85K) The interior is in good condition, no rips in the seats ( driver seat was replaced) the headliner is sagging in a few places and could use a reglue. The AC was deleted in the conversion, I never thought I would actually sell the car, I have always loved the coupes and this one is my 3rd one and certainly the most fun to drive, but other ( expensive) projects are making me sell the car. the reserve is in the 4 digit numbers and much lower than the prices of all the parts separatly and much much lower than the complete cost of the car and built, but this car was never built as an investment, but to make the best and most fun to drive 90 coupe. I will include the spare parts I have for this car in the sale including a complete used rear hatch, spare coils and POS. Contact me if you have any questions, Please take the bidding process seriously and only bid if you are serious about buying the car. The car runs great but is 22 years old, it is sold without any warranty. Happy motoring Francois Here is a link to all pictures I have of the car: http://s894.photobucket.com/albums/ac143/cheffrancois/S2/
