Vehicle Detail
Up for bidding is a 1955 CHEVROLET 210 2 door sedan. The GOOD of this car is it has been in inside storage for over 25 years. The BAD of this car is the rear end was hit very hard on the driver side. The UGLY is the grafting of the trunk floor to repair the damage. AS a result of rear damage the car it was parked indoors and thankfully it was spared from the elements. The frame is not original to the car as it was damaged. The new frame was NOT sandblasted. It was cleaned and sprayed with an industrial enamel paint. The car is very solid and rust free as pictured in the underside photos. The floor is original to the car as is all the cross members although two bolts did break off. (pictured) The only one rusted through is in front of the rear tire on the driver side. (pictured) As seen on the inside photos the floor is incredibly clean and rust free. Again as a result of years of inside storage. The transmission hump has been molested and needs attention. I could go on and on about the lack of rust in this car, but you people know what you are looking at. You all have looked at enough old 55s listed over time to see for yourself. Also pictured inside and under the truck is were the butt welding of the trunk occurred. Driver side quarter is patched in front of the rear tire and at the door jam. It is a good job but this is why the car has sat for so many years. The owner felt it needed a new trunk floor and quarter panel and he was correct. For this car to be correct for RESTORATION it needs 2 new quarters and a new trunk floor. To be correct for a HOT ROD it needs to be put on the road. Thats were you come in. AS you can see in the photos the car is in good condition over all. Only three windows are in the car and two are cracked. Back window is rough at best but not cracked. Firewall is in great shape and not cut or hammered. Fender is good on the driver side but the pass side is full of lead as a result of body work years gone by. Pass door is a sheet of plastic, the driver side is a nice door. Hood has little dings but is good and the trunk lid is in good condition as well. Hood scoop IS NOT mounted for those of you who are not 2 lane black top fans but IS included in the auction. Wheels are cragar ss the front are beat up but the rear are in nice shape. Car will be listed for a 10 day bid and a reserve of $4000.00 is being set. It is worth $5000.00 or more to me but i am taking into account travel or shipping cost to the buyer. For under $4000 I will keep it. I will be leaving the country in the morning and will not be back until the 20th of Oct. Bidding will end on the 21st. I will NOT have computer access so i will Not be able to answer questions or show the car. This auction will NOT END EARLY so every one has the same chance and please no trades etc. Thank you for looking and happy bidding.
