I've owned several Duramax trucks over the years but the LBZ is the king so far. Any Duramax is amazingly strong, efficient (20mpg, etc), powerful and supremely reliable. The LBZ ups the ante with more power and stronger construction than ever. This one has 249K miles on it but I can honestly say it drives like it has 49K miles! How much longer will it last? Many years and hundreds of thousands of miles would be the norm for a Duramax truck like this. It drives beautifully but can turn the power on so easily with a push of the foot. Let's be honest--a truck like this is built to work. Whether it's a horse trailer, car trailer, RV trailer, or just a big load in the bed, this truck can haul! It goes without saying that the engine is strong enough to handle anything you can throw at it. But the Allison transmission is a huge asset here too. Put it in tow mode and it will intelligently adjust to the load and the terrain it's on. It will help hold you back on steep descents and shift at the right points while accelerating. Recent work includes new brakes all around, oil and filter change, fuel filter change (really a full tune-up for this truck). It's ready to go and needs nothing.
