Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale is a restored 1967 Mustang fastback. It's a C-code(289-2v car, but now has the (functional) equivalent of the 1968 J code engine (the original engine was bored out to 302 and has a 4v carb). It has factory air conditioning and factory power front disc brakes. This Mustang was a solid car with minimal rust, then completely dismantled, stripped and repainted in its original Dark Moss Green after all of the rusted panels were replaced - not patched or covered. All maintenance and wear items (bushings, bearings, seals, gaskets, hardware) were replaced with OE spec or better parts, with the exception of the Edelbrock intake manifold & carburetor (which are specified for the 289, though), the stereo and the paint. A file of the receipts for the car is included, as is a stock-type plastic-rim steering wheel and some various extras and spares as collected over the years. It currently has 55547 miles, less than 1000 miles more than when the restoration was finished in 2003, and those were mostly just to keep it exercised. The rest of the time, it has been stored in a heated attached garage garage since the restoration was completed in 2003. Neither the car nor it's owner smoke. Aside from being finished to a higher standard, as is typical of a modern restoration, it is now as it was when it was brand new. It looks, smells and drives like a new car. If not for the stereo, it looks as if it had been bubbled since the 60s. Note: what looks like scratches on the right fender in the first engine photo are reflections from the radio antenna. This doesn't show well in the photos, but there is a 1/8" paint chip about 3" back from the front of the right fender. YOu can barely see it in the first photo. There's a close-up of it in the Flickr album. I am listing this for the owner, but getting answers to any questions about this Mustang is not a problem. Pre-purchase inspections can be arranged. Just ask. The car is in North Manchester, Indiana. It could be driven to it's new home, or you could bring a trailer or have it shipped. You'd need to arrange your own shipping, and a Google search could point you toward some reputable shippers. There is a $2000 non-refundable deposit required. No trades, whole or partial. There is a reserve, which I don't foresee being revealed, except possibly after the auction ends. Anyone who has shot with an Olympus PEN will understand. For those who are like me and dig this sort of thing, here is a mostly complete list of the replacements parts installed. On Sep-30-12 at 12:30:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I have two clarifications to make to this listing: First; Despite what the item specifics indicate, the current transmission is a 4-speed, not a 5-speed, and the original is a 3-speed as is indicated in the data tag and ad copy. This is the result of me mixing data (note to self, don't write up two car sale ads at the same time). Second; I should have clarified that because of the 5-digit odometer, the indicated reading is 55547, though the actual mileage is 155547. While is all but moot on a properly-done total restoration, we felt that it was important enough to note. On Oct-01-12 at 19:51:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Questions asked, and answers given, in no particular order: Q: Is there a Marti report? A: No Marti report. Q: Does the air conditioning work? A: Yes. A rebuilt compressor was installed during the restoration. Q: Your listing states US & Canada. Will you sell to ? A: Sure. As noted, the buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements and expenses, regardless of to where it is to be shipped. Q: Can you add a Buy It Now price so that I can purchase today? A: Your wish is my suggestion. In fact, I added the BIN that just for you. Q: Do you have a local sale price for the car? A: Yes. See also the Buy-It-Now that was added during the previous question. Q: Is the title present and clear? A: Yes. It is in hand, and has no encumbrance or lien.
