I purchased the Shelby in September 2011 and am sadden that I must lose my darling. As with most folks, my wife and I were hit with economic hard times. She was let go from her company and forced to take a new, much less paying job. As a result, I'm letting this darling car go. I had the oil changed at the local Ford dealer with just over 1800 miles. The car still has just under 1900 miles. If you do the math, I've only put around 150 miles on the car a month - mostly holidays, Sunday's and almost all scenic drives. This car has not been raced or abused in any way whatsoever. When not being used, it's garaged kept. She is in absolutely mint condition. The entire suspension was professionally upgraded (shocks, springs, sway bar, rear lower control arms, watts link suspension) at my local Ford dealer. All parts are Ford manufactured and where consulted with Ford Engineers before purchase/install. The suspension is covered for 600 miles BEYOND the factory 36 month/ 36k mile warranty. I still have all the original parts that are included in this auction as well. As for handling, it was test driven by a retired Maryland police officer around 25 mph s-curves. Top speed was 72 mph with very little tire screeching. He claimed the car still had more to give but I was satisfied. Sitting in the passenger seat was a bit nerve rattling. As I said, the car has by no means been abused and driven only by me (aside from the test drive explained above). I upgraded the suspension simply to enjoy rolling country roads with a few curves but the factory rear end was very loose and unstable for me. Going from a Roush to the Shelby, I could feel the difference in handling. Shelby has the power but Roush had the handling hands down. After upgrading the suspension however, the Shelby handles like a dream !! In other words, the owner of this car now has the best of both worlds - power and handling! Other modifications: Hood struts, SLP Loud Mouth Axle-Back Exhaust (original exhaust, as with all original parts for the suspension, are also included for this auction). SVT Performance Package Navigation. Car does NOT have Recaro seats. Bottom line, you will not find a better deal on the market for your dollar than this car. For what dealers and private sellers are asking, you can get this car at the same price, potentially less, with a fully upgraded suspension kit. If you've never driven a Shelby, I encourage you to test drive one for a full appreciation of what I'm offering here. The auction has no reserve so the winning bid takes the car. Please understand that I require a non-refundable deposit of $500 immediately at auction end. The final proceeds must be paid within 7 days unless buyer makes previous arrangements with the seller. Otherwise, the car is available to the seller for resale and the buyer forfeits the $500.00 deposit. The warranty on the car ends 9/2014 or 36k miles, whichever comes first. Aside from this factory warranty, the seller provides no warranty either expressed or implied. The seller is selling the car as-is, where-is and relinguishes all responsibility of the vehicle once final sale is complete.
