Vehicle Detail
You are viewing an exceptionally well maintained 1976 Porsche 911S coupe. Original black (paint code # 700-9-2) California car (now in northern IN) runs excellently, shines wonderfully, and is 100% completely RUST FREE! Needs nothing to get in a drive anywhere. I've owned a lot of Porsches through the years, and have learned that truly "good" & "never rusty" cars are hard to find, and worth waiting for. They're only original once. This is a phenomenal drivers car, and honestly runs better than any 2.7 911 I've ever driven. Every mechanical need appears to have been attended to through the years with this car. If you'd like a 911 that runs and drives as fantastically as an early 911 should, looks nice, but not so nice you're afraid to enjoy it as intended, then take a close look at this car. Good 2.7s are hard to find, but are very rewarding when you do. They retain the light, tossable aspects (not to mention narrow body appearance) of the now highly valuable and collectible long hood/LWB '69-'73 cars. Following are a few things I feel are worth pointing out with this example... * Always starts right up, and idles perfect and steadily every time. * Runs strong and pulls hard all the way through the band. * Full Engine reseal in 2008 - driven less than 2000 miles since. * Full tune up (new plugs, wires, etc.) less than 500 miles ago * Clutch, tires, brakes, etc all replaced in last 5K miles * All shift linkage and bushings redone, and the trans shifts nice and smoothly in all gears - as well as any 915 transaxle you'll experience. * A look inside and underneath shows this car is solid, never rusty, or never wrecked. Even the trunks, and battery area are flawless. * Original dash is excellent and crack free, and all devices and guages work great - including the clock! * Original headliner excellent, & essentially tear & stain free. * Sunroof works great! * Dealer installed factory authorized A/C (not currently charged or updated) A few minor issues or quirks worth mentioning: * Seat bottom (especially drivers side) stitching has come loose (see pics) and should be recovered if up close cosmetics are a priority. Seat backs and bolsters are still decent, back seats are great. * Original radio is missing * Drivers side power window motor is lazy. Slow up and down and should be replaced for optimal use. * Original carpets are very nice, but a little faded in a couple areas in the rear (looks navy), This is subtle, but worth mentioning. * Typical small oil leak (dime size) after a spirited run. Over all, this is not a concourse show car, but an excellent driver quality 911S. I really like this example (& would keep it if I could!) because it is nice and reliable enough to enjoy regularly and with pride, but not so nice that you're afraid to take it out and use as intended. And it just has great eyeball. Early 911s are rapidly appreciating, and will soon be out of reach for the casual enthusiast. Rarely do you find a realistically priced one that is this straight, solid and essentially needless. I encourage all potential buyers to come inspect the car in person prior to buying or bidding. Your bid is a binding contract. Feel free to call me with any questions or for more information. Car condition is subjective. I have owned over 100 Porsches, and am picky about my cars, but potential owners should decide for themselves if this car is for them. Car is sold AS IS, WHERE IS. I can help with very reasonable domestic shipping arrangements, but transportation is ultimately the responsibility of the buyer. International bidders are welcome, but please have U.S. funds and transportation arranged prior to auctions end. Zero or negative feedback bidders please contact me prior to bidding or your bid may be cancelled. Please only bid or offer if you are serious. Finally, feel free to email or call me at 574-361-5315 with any questions, more details, or if you'd like to make an offer. Good luck!
