Vehicle Detail
1956 CHEVROLET BEL AIR NOMAD. EYE CATCHING COLORS OF TROPICAL TURQUOISE AND INDIA IVORY. THE CAR IS BONE STOCK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A REPLACEMENT V8 350 GM GOODWRENCH CRATE ENGINE, 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION, HURST SHIFTER AND AFTERMARKET AM/FM STEREO. I have for sale a beatiful 1956 Nomad which has been meticulously maintained. This car turns heads wherever it goes. The car was purchased from a Florida dealer in 1999. The car starts runs and drives like new. It needs nothing. This Nomad is equiped with a GM Goodwrench crate motor that was installed in 2001. It now has had about 15,000 miles on it. The engine is estimated to be about 280HP and is equipped with an Edelbrock performer intake manifold and Edelbrock 600 CFM electric choke manual secondary carb. The Nomad has dual exhaust and old school "Rams Horn" exhaust manifolds with 2 1/2 inch pipes. The 4 speed manual transmission was rebuilt at the time of engine replacement and still shifts crisply. The 4 speed shifter is a Hurst competition plus. 5 Coker wide (2 1/2 inch) white wall tires. The 4 on the car are like new and have about 1500 miles on them, the spare tire is new. All chrome and stainless trim on the car is in great shape. The paint is from an older restoration. Upon close inspection it is starting to show some signs of age and there are a few small touched up stone chips. From six feet the paint looks great! This car has manual brakes and manual steering. The original drum brakes work as they should. This car has the rare manual brake warning light accessory; it works like new. The manual steering has great feel and needs only a light touch for operation once the car is in motion. The front end alignment is great and the car tracks arrow straight. The radio is an AM/ FM unit tastefully styled to match OEM. The inside of the car looks like new, and has had a correct original style Nomad charcoal and ivory interior and headliner installed prior to my ownership. The glass in the car is clear and untinted. The windsheild and door glass is replacement but the rest from the sliders on back is original. While this car is not a #1 show car, it is a gorgeous car that has won many local car show trophies. It can be driven any distance and you don't have to worry that a stone chip will ruin your day. The reserve on this car is set low to ensure a happy new owner. I do have the car listed on carsonline.com and carsforsale.com at the asking price of $39,500. The reserve price on Ebay is set way below my asking price. You will not find a better 1956 Nomad for this price anywhere in the country.
