Vehicle Detail

No reserve auction. Up for auction is a 1964 Ford Fairlane 2dr hardtop. The body is pretty straight, It is painted Grenadier Red, with black in the side trim. It has 17"x 8' in front and 17' x9.5' in rear american five spoke rims, with P235/45ZR17 in front, and P275/40ZR17 in rear N3000 tires. Rims and tires look near new. If I was to keep it I would restraighten and rechrome the bumpers. The trim overall is in good condition, but the chrome trim piece on the side pillars are pitted pretty baddly. Going down the road the car looks and sounds good. It has what I was told a 302 roller engine with a E303 cam in it. I would say it only puts out about 250 hp, Runs fine, but does leak oil. As I was told The Transmission is a C4 with a shift kit, 2500 rpm stall converter, and has a Hurst shifter. Also leaks transmission fluid. Shifts solid and shifter seems to be working fine. I believe the rearend is an 8" with 3:00 or 3:25. It reciently started leaking too at the seal. To me speedometer does seem to under read. Over the last year I have driven it say 8 times at 50 miles each time. A few months ago I had problems with rust plugging my fuel filter and the fuel gauge didn't work. So I had the gas tank and sender replaced. No more fuel filter problems, but the fuel gauge still dosen't work. must be a wiring or fuse problem. I replaced the switch and cam assembly for the turn signals, because the arm would bounce around. The arm works ok now but some how the turnsignals don't make good contact and don't work properly. There are some rust issues, but not to bad. From underneath I could see some nickle and dime rust holes at the front of the front floor panels. The sheetmetal below the battery is rusted out. There is a frame damage spot up front that was poorly repaired. I'm not sure what the damage was from. The inside of the trunk has been coated and looks OK, but makes it hard to check for rust. Though ftom the outside the trunk side sections from the bottom look pretty good. To me the torque box to the rear wheels look solid. It has air shocks in the rear that leak out slowly. The car has manual brakes and steering, they work fine. The front suspension seems to be fine for now. It rides good on the highway and dosen;t pull to the side. The interior is pretty clean. there are no holes in the seats, carpet is ok. needs better seatbelts. Headliner needs a little adjusting in the back. I believe oil pressure, water temp and battery signals go to a triple gauge cluster below the dash. The previous owner remove the rear trunk lock. Now you need to pull a leaver in the back seat to open the trunk. The car is nice but needs work in a number of areas. My interest have changed so the Fairlane is up for sale. Check out the pictures. I would recommend coming to look at the car before bidding. Name is Buck, You can call me at 530-632-7010 for questions, or to set up an appointment to see the car. I'm located in Colusa California, about an hour north west of sacramento. Sold as is, winning bidder needs to setup shipping. Winning bidder will need to send a nonrefundable $500.00 deposit by Paypal within 3 days. Balance to be payed within 7 days by wire transfer or cash.
