FOR SALE:1979 Pontiac Trans Amwith only 74,800 original miles This Trans Am has had an easy life and is still in original stock condition and looks and drives like a newer car. The engine runs super smooth and strong while the ride is unparalleled with superb handling. Just remove the Fisher T-Tops, let the sun shine on you and enjoy the ride. Engine and Transmission: The motor is the original Pontiac numbers matching 301 V8 along with the original numbers matching transmission. This motor delivers surprising power with good off the line torque and acceleration. It will bust these wide tires loose off the line and get you 0 to 60 pretty quick. The transmission shifts nice and crisp and down shifts properly when stepping into passing gear. The engine has never had any work done to it and runs and sounds great. You will not have to spend any money on it! The engine compartment is all original and has not had any cosmetic work done to it. It is BONE stock. The car still has the factory stock exhaust system and is in perfect condition. You will not spend any money on the engine, trans, or exhaust system. Interior: Wow! What a beautiful original sight. The seats, dash, headliner, package tray, door panels, seats backs, console, gauges, steering wheel, etc. are all perfect and like new. Just take some time to view the pictures and see how nice it is. It even smells fresh. No funky 70's odors. You will truly appreciate it when you sit behind the wheel and look around and see how nice and new looking the interior is. Wheels and tires: The wheels are the original GM 8" WS6 factory handling package alloys and all of them have been professionally restored to better than new. They really set off the overall appearance of the car and give it a nice stance. The tires are newer Dunlop GT Qualifers and they give the car an extremely smooth quiet ride that will turn on a dime. You will not need to spend any money on wheels or tires. Body and Paint: This car retains 100% or its original rust free body panels. The bottom of both doors are like new with well defined "lips" and the rear quarters are perfect as well. The body is very straight with no dings or dents resulting in a nice overall apperance. The Factory Fisher T-Tops are very nice and remove and install with ease. They store in their original bags in the trunk. The paint is mostly original with some touch up over the years. The color is very deep with a high gloss shine. The deep Heritage Brown color with Gold Decals and Gold Inlay WS6 rims really sets this TA apart from the crowd. Paperwork: I have the original window sticker, original dealer invoice, original owners warranty book with persons name and address, original manual, tire supplement booklets, numerous reciepts and more. The car has the right doc's. I am selling the car as is because cars of the age are. The car went on the Long Haul segment of the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2009 and performed flawlessly. The trunk comparment looks like nothing has ever been placed in it. The black felt mat is original and like new. Both Fisher T-Top bags are there and in great condition. The space saver spare and jack assembly is all there and all parts look like new. The bottom side of the trunk lid still has the factory decals and original paint.
