I have a 1968 AMC AMX 290 auto car here for auction. This is a very rare car as they only made 484 290 auto cars in 1968 and only made the 2 seater for 3 years. The car has been off the road since around 1989 and has not been run since then. It is a restoration project that I saved from getting cut up and parted out. They are very rare and will never make these again. The interior is fairly complete needing to have the seats redone which are 69 seats with the headrest, a new carpet and other misc done. Dash is good with the usual warping of the dash around the defrost ducts. The body will need the floor patch panels where they all usually go in the low spot that gets wet and holds water. These are available from any of the vendors for a very reasonable price. The lower quarters and a little above the wheel will need patching also. They also make these are are sold for a reasonable price. The rockers, trunk pan and front gussets along with the engine bay panels are all nice. The only panel that isn't in the engine bay is the one with the battery tray as it has a hole from the battery acid, The rad support is nice and I don't think this car has ever been hit. The hood and grill are missing as they were stolen off the car before I got it. They do make fiberglass hoods and the grills are not hard to find. The car rolls fine but has not been run in 13-14 years. I am sure it will need to be rebuilt. It is frozen up at this time but I haven't tried anything to free it. The rear is a posi as I did jack it up and check it. All glass is good and the stainless trim is all there. Bumpers will need to be redone. The tires remakably hold air but are dry rotted. The car will need to be towed but I will gladly assist in loading the car. My starting bid is well under what the car would bring parted out. There is no reserve. You can do what you want with it as far as parting it out or making it a resto project that you didn't pay a lot for. The car is sold as is as described . I reserve the right to end auction early as I have this advertised in other places. All transportation costs are the sole responsability of the buyer.
