Great restoration candidate of a preferred year, 1978 Ford F100 XLT SHORT BOX It has the power steering,power brakes, automatic transmission, 400 CI V8 motor runs strong. Transmission is good, the body is very straight except for one ding on the left fender by the rear tail light, all the trim is straight except for the same corner with that ding. There are numerous areas of surface rust but only 1 spot where it goes through at which I have a picture pointing at it with my finger. On the interior the seat is torn on the drivers side, the rug is worn on the drivers side as well. The dash and instrument panel are in very good condition. On the engine, the air conditioning compressor has been removed. I have a used rebuilt one from a recycle yard that goes with the truck. The rest of the equipment for AC is still in place. The steering wheel is out of whack it needs some work there. The great thing about this truck is that is has black on black paint and interior so leaving many options for a new color when painted or stay with black. The windows are tinted as well once body job is done it should look real sharp. These trucks are very easy to work on and have the look desirable by truck enthusiasts for older fords. It has a replacement tailgate which is blue, the box has surface rust only no holes. The truck recently was driven aprox. 100 miles , but for long distance it would be cost affective to hire a transport company most places in the north east would cost about $500-600 for transport.
