Vehicle Detail

Pretty neat opportunity at a very rare car/done well/and the result is a nice safe reliable classic car that is a driver and will still make you proud to be seen in. This car was a very solid car to start with just about perfect front aprons, frame rails, shock towers, torque boxes and same is true for the rear rails torque boxes and trunk floors. The front floors were replaced at one point in the past with just short front floor panel sections. When I purchased the car, the rear quarters were removed for the replacement with new quarter skins. and same was true for the door shells (work was done to remove the old door skin). Since the car came with the parts, I had my friend who is a professional restorer do the door shell installation on solid door frames, and he did the quarter panel skin replacement while also (to do it right) replacing the outer wheel houses and the trunk drops). The cowels were in great condition so they did not need any work. The front fenders, hood, trunk lid were all original to the car and in good shape. In fact the orginal and pretty rare GTA badges are original. The result is a very solid automobile with no structural or latent rust concerns. During the restoration process/ since the 390 engine/C6 transmission were already removed/ we did not hunt down the original stuff but in fact I had a great opportunity to use a 1968 289 2v engine and C4 transmission that were original to my sons 1968 hardtop. They were in great working order but he had the opportunity to upgrade his car with a hot 302 and a fresh c4 trans (about a year ago). So it was a neat marriage of the car to its current driveline. That said, obviously its not 100% numbers matching BUT... what it is is a factory GT, in fact a GTA.. the only year they made GTA mustangs in fact. The car had and still has factory options such as *Fog lights *Dual exhaust *Power steering *Power disc brakes *Deluxe exterior decour package (note the louvered or turn signal hood/thats a must for any 1967 GT mustang) *AM/Fm Radio *Styled steel wheels/note these are 1968 versions currently on the car (in excellent condition with great caps and trim rings) and a new set (the wrapper is just about worn off of the treads) General Altimax 205 70 14 inch black wall radials. New in the past year is all externals to the engine such as water pump/radiator/starter/alternator. New Fluids, belts, battery.. *Fresh paint job (color changed from a pretty rare color Frost Turquoise to a real neat 2011/2012 Ford Color called Kona Blue. *New White Vinyl Top *on the interior there is a new dash pad, dash bezels, Door panels, arm rest pads, sill plates, headliner, package tray and I am sure more to mention. But the seat upholstery is original not all torn up. But the vynyl certainly does not look new like the rest of the car does. *Mechanical items such as Master cylinder, front rotors, rear wheel cylinders, brake lines, brake hoses, front calipers *(high performance 4 piston type) fuel lines, gas tank, fuel pump.. etc were all changed. The car also sounds awesome with a Mustang authentic dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. (you know how good many of these mustangs sound with the 20 dollar a piece california turbo mufflers/this just sounds better with the 80 per flowmasters. The car also received new exterior chrome such as bumpers/gas cap/antenae, grille chrome, door handles, remote side mirror, the car even got a new full set of matched lock cylinders (the doors match the ignition switch/not always something you see). Since I mention the gas cap/the car should have a 1967 GT cap (twist off) and I have to say I bought one during the restoration but I cant find it/so I put on a new 1969 type which I had. If I find the cap it goes with the car/if I dont any new buyer should be perfectly happy with this cap or I also see Maryland mustang selling the cap for $39 bucks right here on ebay. I ran the door tag to report the following information. NEW! WARRANTY NUMBER (required) BODY COLOR TRIM DATE D.S.O. AXLE TRANS Please feel free to ask me any questions. I welcome the contact and love to talk Mustangs. While I would want to re-emphasize the fact that the car is no longer 100% numbers matching/this is and will remain a rarer than the ordinary Mustang being a factory GTA. Also, the car still has the original door and buck tag. The Buck tag shows like this.. 65A B 2A Vinyl Top-2 SK-R P10 DB MC If you know your mustangs, the P10.. denotes factory GT for this year. On Aug-13-12 at 06:05:24 PDT, seller added the following information: AND if you are only after say a Mustang fastback.. in the next weeks I will be listing a 1965 fastback V8 4 speed car and a 1967 fastback. So watch for my auctions or feel free to inquire. By the way, if you see there is another auction under my listing/that is a GREAT great car that is well sorted out. Its my 17 year old sons car and he (he and I) have been building it for the past 2 plus years and truly has the best of everything. On Aug-13-12 at 20:35:29 PDT, seller added the following information: OK my son took a picture of the 1965 fastback to throw you fastback buyers a bone. Its a nice car that should get quarter skins and paint/but certainly not junk like you typically find on ebay in what people are calling restorable condition. you will also see a 1969 Mach (ready for paint) next to the 65. that could be for sale too. thats a 390 4 speed well optioned mach. Bottom line. if its a Mustang of the early vintage 1964.5 to 1972/just ask.. I may own one. you just have to be ready to dig into your pockets (LOL) because I am 50, been around stangs all my life (since I was 16) and I know what they should bring.. keep up with the market and while I have to thin the herd//there is no fire sale going on. Best regards. On Aug-17-12 at 05:48:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Hey Guys/Gals. I know people stand on ceremony about zero feedback buyers. I figure everyone must start somewhere. But I just cancelled a bid from a person who bid like 7 times/didnt respond to my inquirey. Of course I hate to do it because my current top bid drops by thousands but the point is.. I am being honest and not wasting anyones time/I would appreciate the same treatment.
