Vehicle Detail
1956 Ford F100 short bed, I have been the owner of this pickup since 1966, and to my knowledge it is all original & I believe I am the second owner. As you can see by the photographs it does have surface rust, but 99% of the rust does not go through, it is only on the surface. On the driver's side above the running board behind the door there is some rust that has comes through, that is very characteristic of this model. There is a hole in one of the wood slats 5 or 6 inches long that was there when I got the pickup in 1966, I covered the whole bed with a 1/4 inch piece of tempered masonite, so I am not real sure of the condition of the wood. The hood on the truck is not the original one, but the original one comes with the truck, I had a fold up tow bar hitch and someone backed into me and pushed the hatch into the hood, that is how the hood got dented. At present there are, 312 heads and intake manifold on the original 272 Ford engine. The original 272 heads and intake manifold, are in the bed and part of the deal. The transmission is a three speed with overdrive. (This would be a very good to restore to original condition project,) as for the round hole in the dash!? That is where the original 1956 Ford pickup radio goes, these are very very rare, the radio did work at the time of removal and comes with the pickup. All the windows are chipped or cracked due to little brats with be-be guns when it was stored in a yard in Idaho. I purchased this pickup in San Jose Ca. in 1966 with 46,000 miles on it, (it now has 87397 miles ) I was told that the previous owner had originally purchased the pickup new in Arizona. We then moved to Idaho in 1969 & it wasn't driven very often as I had a 4 wheel drive pickup. The pickup was sitting for about 4 years in Idaho, then I got it running again & hauled it here to Oregon, then I started it every three or four months until my batteries gave up the ghost in 2003 or 2004 it has not been run since that time. The tires are pour! Shipping of the truck is your responsibility.
