Vehicle Detail

This 1955 Victor Antique Auto MG TF 1500 replica is what might be called an Estate Sale. It came to me as a package deal with another vehicle from a fellow who died (from a diving mis-adventure) after making the deal. From what I can learn about these Victor MG TF 1800 replica cars is that they use most all MG parts some sourced from the original MG TF and most sourced from the circa 1980 MG B series of cars. The body is either MG TF parts or fiberglass parts (fenders, main body/cowling etc.) molded from the original MGTF parts. Thus, from driving this car and my recollections of driving the original MG TF and my Austin Healy 100-4, Jaguar Mark IV sedan (all of a similar style of post WW II Brit cars) this improved version cures the inherent bugs from that period. (Think Joseph Lucas, Prince of Darkness) This car has large front disc brakes and drum brakes in the rear (the handbrake actually works!). The engine is an MG 1800cc with more power and engine oil cooler, Weber Carb. modification, the transmission is a 4 speed all synchromesh manual with electric overdrive which give you a 6 speed. Painted wire wheels. Lucas Headlights. Driving lights. Recent work completed is new tires, front suspension and steering was overhauled, New radio CD player and auto antenna and a few other items i can't recall, all this from receipts that came with the car. As I think of other features I will add to this rather lame description. Added info on this car: Apparently this car was assembled in north Florida about 2001 from MG Frame and other MG parts. A complete history and various manuals come with this car. I have scanned three of five recent (june through july 5, 2012) invoices for about $3,071 worth of work. I will try to add the 3 most significant invoices to the pix section. I have redacted the shop name and former owners name. Serious buyers/bidders can ask and I will email scans of these invoices. More and more this little car looks to be a real gem. These invoices cover 5 new tires and wire wheels and rebuilding the front suspension, Four side curtains (I imagine two per side) and finally Front brake work including new rotors, ceramic pads and tie rod ends. Took more pix of the engine compartment and i can see the transmission looks to be new, which is consistent with what I was told be the former owner and others. Feel free to ask any further questions. Too bad the Obama economy is so bad or I would have sold this car several times while gassing it up on the trip home.
