This is a very unique A/FX clone or tribute 1962 Pontiac Tempest Le Mans. Project started out in 2009 with a totally rust free arizona car. This is a nut and bolt total restoration. Every un-boltable item was removed, replaced or rebuilt, repainted, and re-assembled. All new weather stripping. All new interior. The paint is all new and was finished with satin clear to give it a period look. All of the decals you see on the car are just pressure sensitive vinyl. They can be easily removed with a hair drier. The chassis, suspension, brakes, etc. is all new. Custom width 12 bolt rear end is all heavy duty items by Moser Racing. 3.73 True Trac Posi with optional larger axles and wheel studs. Jegs adjustable ladder bars and coil spring mounts. Chassis Engineering 3 way shocks all around. Hooker Super Comp Headers. 16 Gallon fuel cell. Edelbrock electric fuel pump. New American Racing Torque Thrust D's with new tires. P165/80-15" radials on front. 28" x 9" Hoosier racing slicks on the back. Note: The pie crust slicks in the pictures are no longer on the car and are not included in this auction. I was having clearance problems with them with driveway entrances and bumps in the road. Car runs 11.70s in the quarter mile. The engine is a balanced 1970 GTO 455 YC block with 1971 400, 96 casting heads with stock ports and valves. 9.5-1 compression ratio. Forged .040 over TRW pistons. Assembly is balanced. Crane bracket race hydraulic cam with 236 / 242 @ .050 . 500 lift, and Comp Magnum 1.52 rockers. Edelbrock Performer intake, with 800 CFM Q-Jet carb. HEI distributer and MSD 6AL-2 ign. Custom 4 core aluminum radiator that keeps the engine cool even on very hot days. Trans is a racing 200-4R transmission with Grand National valve body and governor. Blue Streak 9" 4200 stall converter. Brakes have line lock for just the front brakes for burn outs, and a separate switch for locking all 4 brakes for when you are waiting on the green light at the track. It will cruise down the highway in overdrive @ 2400 RPM going around 70 MPH on middle grade gas with no pinging. You can drive this car anywhere you want to, light up the tires at a cruise night, or take it to the track and have some real fun. One thing for sure, you will not have to worry about running into another car like it where ever you go. Now for the business end. I encourage you, or someone you trust or hire, to come by and check the car out in person. The car will speak for itself. I will refund the deposit if the car does not match the above description. The car does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank / cashiers checks can take up to 10 days. My bank will give me a letter stating the length of time for it to clear which depends on where the check is drawn from. No variances on the date they set. I will provide copy of the letter. Bank transfers are great but can take 2 days to clear depending on time of day the transfer takes place. Cash is cash and preferred if you are picking it up in person.
