1973 ford GRAN TORINO SPORT This car is reluctantly being offered for sale, I have a ton of money invested into it since buying it in 2008 ( probably a little better than 15K ) As it sits right now it is registered, inspected and driven at least a couple times a week weather permitting. It is a good running reliable driving car right now, The body,frame floors and trunk are outstanding and need no attention. In march of 2010 I spent over $8,000. in paint and labor to remove and repair any and all rust from the body,trunk and floors using rust free california factory ford sheetmetal.All work done by the owner and soul employee of a profesional classic car restoration shop. Interior looks good but does need both front seats recovered due to seam splits,and a new carpet because the one in there is not very good quality. I simply have no more time to finish this car and even less time to enjoy it. I will sell this car anywhere but will not take a check or money order from any prince of a foriegn country or anything. If you are from some remote island off the coast of east chack-a-luck thats cool, but get me an envelope of cash and I'll be happy to release the car to a shipping company. As for the car itself it has a 351 with a C6 automatic transmission, both of which are ok as a driver and the engine uses no oil but I was planning on bringing both up to another level but just cant do it at this time. also has the ford 9 inch rear.I dont have all my reciepts to go back and check because I never planned on selling the car, (but I never planned on getting married or buying a house either..need i say more) but here are some of the items i have replaced since 2008, again this is just off my head im sure if i sat out at the car i'd come up with much more. I would certainly not call the car "done" but as i said it runs and drives nice as it sits now, certainly well worthy of any cruise nite activity's. basicly i took care of all the hard part and the expensive part. too many times i invested in upgrades on a less than stabil platform thats why this time i wanted to get a solid car ..then finish all the rest of the needed items. a nice power plant in a rot box is not a great idea. but now its time i put this aside and let someone else finish their dream car. i just have no time and hate to see it sit in the garage all the time. heres just some of whats been replaced. factory chrome remote mirrors , rear bumper , period correct aluminum ansen style slotted mags , new windsheild , bf goodrich 235 60r 15 tires all around , complete dual exhaust from manifolds back including crossorer balancing pipe. new speakers ,new dash pad not a cover, try finding and pricing one of those. wood grain dash trim and gauge bezels. blaster 2 ignition coil , factory ford stripe kit (3M reflective ) period correct wooden steering wheel I had save from one of my previous STARSKY & HUTCH torinos , (there is a horn button on the dash because this steering wheel did not have a horn ) Cobra jet style hood scoop with working turn signals, new rear springs . shocks front and rear , energy stabilizer links, aluminum edelbrock performer intake , edelbrock elect. choke carb , fuel pump , brakes , door seals , trunk seals , I have several picture of this car and can send some of a certain area if you wish, as well as a lot of pictures of the car before and during the restoration. I am happy to answer any questions I can. I will provide indoor storage for the seven days after auction has ended. car will not be driven after deposit is recieved. If more storage time is required after the 7 days I can put the car in a locked storage bay at a cost to the purchaser and mail you the key. or we may be able to make some arrangements for outdoor unsecure storage on my property at you own risk.
