Have you been looking for a 1972 Firebird rolling body to build a Pro Touring car or street machine? Or need lots of solid, original factory sheetmetal to save a valuable Formula or Trans Am project? Then this is the car you’ve been searching for. I found this car in the dry High Desert area between Redmond and Bend Oregon, where it had been in storage since 1983. Originally it was sold in the Los Angeles area. I got it to get the engine, transmission and front clip for a ’72 Firebird Formula project. There are only three areas of rust out in this body. It did have a vinyl top, which even in the dry climate got enough moisture under it to cause several small rust holes in the roof skin. These are small enough to be patched. Areas around both windows looks good, with only minor surface rust. Both outer quarters have rust through, but the inner quarter drops are rock solid. There is NO other serious rust any where. Excellent floor pans. Tailpanel is dented below the bumper, but not rusty. Solid original trunk pan. I have numerous pictures of the underbody and floors for you to see how solid it is. Interior is complete missing only carpet, headliner, package tray and radio. Radio holes are not hacked but the dash pad top is cracked badly. Items not necessarily pictured, but included in the sale are; Vinyl top chrome moldings (3) Rear window to trunk filler panel (better quality than the one bolted on the car) Rear license plate lamp asm. All seat belts and shoulder harnesses Door sill plates All under dash A/C ducting Steering wheel center Driveshaft and yoke Radiator Frt. Fender inner splash guards (2) Headlamp mounting plates, buckets and rings (2) LH headlamp bezel LH grille with emblems Transmission crossmember Front license plate mounting bracket Washer bottle and bracket Unusual column shift car, so there are no holes in the floor for a shifter or console. The wiring harnesses from the firewall back is in place and not hacked. Since the car was parked in1983 with a bad transmission, I was told the mileage shown of 31,649 was original. But I have no way to document this. The car will be sold with its Oregon license plates, an Oregon State Lost Title form, Application for Replacement Title and a Bill of Sale. I have run this VIN through the Western States Stolen Vehicle Database and the VIN came up clear. All questions gladly answered.
