Per the PHS documentation that I have gotten for this car, it was built in the Fremont, California plant and was shipped out on March 26th of 1969 to the “Winkel Motors” Pontiac dealership in Reno, Nevada. The car was sold from this dealership to “C. D. Gordon” and a warranty Protect-o-Plate was issued to that buyer (which will be included with the sale). Also included with the sale is a Nevada title from 1978 that was issued to the (second?) owner in Winnemucca, Nevada. I presented that title to the DMV here in Michigan to get a clear Michigan title in my name and they were nice enough to let me keep the old Nevada one for historical purposes. This car has undergone a complete frame-off nut and bolt restoration. Approximately $115,000.00 was spent on the restoration of this car alone. This $115k number is supported by detailed original receipts of parts and labor costs that will be included with the car. The results of this restoration are an extraordinarily beautiful and well-running vehicle. The car has been kept in a temperature and humidity controlled environment under a custom car cover since the restoration was completed. The car cover comes with the car. Some highlights of the restoration: · The body and paint on this car are perfect with no chips, scratches, dents or rust. The carousel red paint is under several coats of “clear” paint that highly polished, giving the car a nice, beautiful deep shine. It certainly gets people’s attention…they just stop and stare whether this car is coming their way or just parked. · Since this car has very few miles on it since the restoration, the underside of this car is as nice as the topside. The body and frame of this car were blasted down to bare metal surfaces and the underside surfaces painted with a semi-gloss black chip- resistant formulation after priming. The pictures don’t do the underside justice. · The rear bumper was blasted, straightened and triple chrome plated by Advanced Plating in Nashville, Tennessee. They are among the best in the business and the bumper looks like jewelry. · The Endura bumper and hood scoops were restored by an individual who specializes in restoring these rare rubber and plastic parts. · The “Hideaway” headlights were completely disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled. They really set the car off and they work great. · The engine of this car was disassembled and gone over completely. The original engine block was unusable. It was replaced with a date code and casting number-correct 1969 Ram Air III “WS” block. This engine was rebuilt with a longer duration Pontiac Ram Air IV camshaft, which gives the car a “lumpy” idle and awesome acceleration. I think the sound of this car accelerating is my favorite thing about it. · For the “numbers guys”, here are some of the codes that will be of interest: Carburetor: Part Number 7029273. No date code stamp visible. Intake Manifold: Original Ram Air III casting number 9794234. Date code is B279. Engine Block: The block is the correct WS Code block for a 69 Ram Air III car that has the correct casting part number 9790071. Date code is A029. Camshaft: Ram Air IV camshaft, part number 9794041. Cylinder Head 1: Original Ram Air III casting number 48. Date code is B269. Cylinder Head 2: Original Ram Air III casting number 48. Date code is also B269. Wheels: Five original “JA” code wheels from 1969 that came with this car. · The original Muncie transmission and the rear end were also completely rebuilt. · The Hurst shifter was sent back to Hurst and it remanufactured by them. They also re-chromed the shifter stick. · All new interior seat covers and door panels from Legendary Interiors were installed in the correct “Parchment” color that the car had originally. This color option is interesting in that it has a metallic hue added to the white parchment color, making it more like a pearl color. Legendary also provided new interior hardware, seat springs, foam, windlaces and other soft trim for this car. · The car has all new soft ray safety glass installed. · The Rally gauges were restored by Bob’s speedometer in Howell, Michigan. This shop is also among the best in what they do. · “Old school” period correct Stewart Warner gauges for water temperature, oil pressure and voltage were added beneath the dash for assurance. · Just Dashes in Van Nuys, California was chosen to strip and then vacuum form new foam and vinyl around the dash pad in the correct Pontiac grain and color. I have added a period-correct Pontiac 8-track player that was sold by the Pontiac dealerships in 1969 (and a few other years) as an accessory. This unit (and the AM/FM radio unit) was remanufactured by an individual who does nothing but restore electronics of classic GM cars for a living. I have put a 1970 Pontiac GTO “Formula” style steering wheel on this car as I find them to be more comfortable to drive with than the stock “wood” wheels. If you have driven with the wood wheels for a while, you know what I mean. This formula steering wheel was blasted down to the bare metal, painted and then wrapped in new black leather with black stitching. If you do not like the wheel, sell it and swap it out for the wood one they sell at Ames Performance. I have also put new “E/T” brand five spoke polished wheels with new BFG white letter tires on the car. If you do not like these wheels, sell them. Five original 1969 Judge “JA” code have been beautifully restored and they come with the car bubble wrapped in boxes. After the restoration was done, I stumbled across an additional 69 GTO block that is at standard bore. It is stamped with a code “XH” that also has the 9790071 raised surface casting numbers. The raised surface date code casting is B149, which is right in synch with the build date of my car. This block will be included with the sale. It can be decked and re-stamped to a matching number WS code block with your VIN number if points are your thing. If you are not a “point’s guy” and want to add air conditioning to the car, I am also including a restored set of Pontiac air conditioning brackets that are the correct part numbers for this car. Sell them if you do not want them. I also have a spare NOS rear view mirror that is correct for this car and will be included in this sale. To summarize, if you are looking for a low mileage beautiful 1969 GTO Judge that has been restored to an extremely high level of quality, then this is your car. This car will destroy other entries in a car show and bring home the trophies. This car is being marketed locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction early if I meet a buyer thru that route. Acceptable forms of payment will be cash, bank check or wire transfer. Payment is expected within 7 days of the eBay auction close. · Please do not bid if you do not have the funds available or the financing approved. · Please do not bid if you do not have permission from your significant other. · In other words, please do not waste your time or mine if there is any chance you cannot complete this purchase. You will be responsible for transport though I have an excellent transporter that I use often to move my cars. He can get the car to you in an enclosed single car auto trailer just about anywhere in the Continental U.S. His level of service is second to none. If you need a freight quote, just tell me an address. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will do my best to answer them. Best of luck to you all in bidding.
