Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1991 Honda CRX - located in Montague, California For Sale By Owner. Fun. Quick. Roomy. Honda CRX. If you've owned one of these, you know. *262,330 mi on chassis, engine was swapped at 198k, thats what I was told when I bought it, I have no documentation, but my friend who is a honda mechanic showed me the badge on the motor (see pic) and told me it was a JDM motor, so I looked it up (D15B, 1.5L sohc non-vtec) and it came from a japanese honda capa I believe. JDM motors come guaranteed with less than 50k miles on them from japan. so, to my knowledge, the motor in this car has around 100,xxx miles give or take. I bought it in texas and drove it to northern california and registered it at the dmv w/ no problems, and it passed smog fine.. In dallas when i bought it I had a lot of work done, not gonna begin to go into prices, I know I'm not getting outta this car what I've put in it, but: -new windshield -body work (couple little dents here and there) satin black paint, no clear coat -16" ssr competetions w/ yokohama parada spec-2 205/40R16 -skunk2 springs 1.75" drop in front and 1" drop in back -tokico blue shocks in back, stock up front -blox aluminum lower control arms -universal muffler and tip, wanted a better look but to still be somewhat quiet -new rear hatch lift-shocks -seat covers and floor mats (original seats are torn up but still comfortable, look good with covers) -tint (35% - quality 2 ply 3M film) -JVC cd/mp3 head unit w/ remote, aux and usb, ipod/iphone (charges/plays, ipod or pandora) kept the old kicker door speakers that came with it -new brakes, lower ball joints, inner/outter tie rod ends, cv axels, filters, plugs, wires, fluids, oil change, heater core, and blower motor After that it was ready and I drove it back from texas, thru albuquerque and then down thru tucson, and over to san diego and then up I-5 to my place out here in the northern cali mountains.. cruised fine, no issues, nice little road trip. couple months or so later got a flat tire on the highway and the place i got it towed to (cause my spare was at my house) didn't have any yokohamas in 205/40R16. so it has 1 falken ziex ze912 (left rear) ..glad it didn't happen on a road trip. (current tire life= yokohams 50%+ falken 75%+) I tore all the plastic out of the back and it made the rear way bigger, it's like the size of a cadillac trunk now, great for big sports bags, duffel bags, boxes, students, couriers.. plan was to take out carpet and dynamat the car from front to back then have a upholstery shop put in new formed carpet.. (got a quote for $420 at a place in medford, or) but never got around to it, so the back is empty, you hear everything on the road if you don't have the music jammin.. I do not have the rear pieces, they are gone, what you see is what you get. I was just getting ready to do a swap and picking out motor and whatnot, had a friend in town and we were cruising home one night after getting some food, and I hit a deer! umped out right in front of me, so I had a friend replace the hood and radiator support and I had a new windshield put in- the front right fender was kinda bent in so i bent it out, isn't very straight, doesn't look that bad, but doesn't look that good. and then like a month or so later, after getting it all fixed, I cleaned her up real nice one night, and I forgot to close the hood all the way when cleaning it, just sat it down. got in it the next morning not thinking and went cruising down the street and the hood blew up and smashed my windshied and bent.. no joke, new hood and windshield.. and it left a little dent on roof, not very noticeable (pic) SO, after replacing the hood twice and windshield three times now, I'm ready to sell this vehicle. It is my 3rd vehicle, I drive my truck and cadillac more, It is time for her to go. put a new champion pro battery in it like 2 months ago. and new air filter. was going to get oil changed and put new windshield wipers on this week. decided to drive to the vista point on I-5 and take some pics, they came out pretty good, even tho i forgot the tire shine, ha! I will also include a nice low profile floor jack, not a cheap-o, preatty nice one. kinda visible in rear hatch pic behind pass seat, used two or three times, pretty much new. it goes with the car, there was no stock jack when I bought this car, so I bought this and just keep in the car. NO RESERVE PRICE I have a clear title in hand. Winner can meet me locally, with cash, or transfer funds in a bank or whatever, however u feel comfortable.. I would like to be paid and have the car gone within 2 weeks of auction ending. You must set up shipping details if you want it shipped to you. ******ISSUES****** **hood is primered black, bought off eBay, not satin black like the rest of the car, the hood needs to be adjusted- the way it sits, it takes two people to open **the front is not very straight, the right headlight has broken bracket, it kinda points down a little, and the highbeam is out. also looks like someone shot it with a bb gun? other headlight has tape to hold corner light in place because of a broken clip, each side has 3 orange lights, right side has one out, and the corner lights are on with 3M hd double sided tape. the front right fender that took the impact pushed back a little and when the passenger door opened it chipped, so i bent it out and there is black spray paint down the line of the door/fender, looks a little jicky but ok **scratches down both sides, some bad, but none are to the metal, most are buffable I think. all from blackberry bushes, brush, branches (I live out in the sticks, what can i say) **burns a quart of oil every 2.5-3k miles or so **the check engine light comes on and goes off randomly, and sometimes idle is a little hesitating. don't know if its a sensor, vacuum hose, computer? not bad, runs fine tho, been like that since i got it. **exhaust may have a slight leak in it, probably bumped something under there in a parking lot or back road, runs and sounds fine **grinds going into 3rd most of the time, never pops out of any gears or anything tho **the car drives a little skwirly, I mean I just took it to san fran and back not long ago (5 1/2 h each way) drove fine but its def not tight. I drive to medford and mt. shasta, wherever, no trip is short for me, runs and drives, no issues, but like i said, not tight. I got new upper ball joints and front sway bar bushings but haven't had them installed, they will be included.. may make a difference if installed. also i think the front shocks should be replaced, would probably make a huge difference **the rear hatch latch is bad, it closes and locks and opens with lever near seat just fine, but it needs to be replaced- it jangles in there (also weather strip around rear hatch could be replaced) **a/c does not work, hasn't since i bought vehicle, don't know if it's compressor or needs charged, or something electrical? but it does not work **around the a/c heater unit, the face is cracked, a friend was putting in my stereo and it cracked and he tried to fix it with some epoxy or something, made it worse lol, you can find replacement a/c face covers on ebay, i never got around to it, but it would make it look way better **the plastic exterior door trim pieces were not painted very well, installed with 3M hd double sided tape **plastic cover piece at bottom of windshield has crack **the rear right tail light has a slight crack thru it, not very noticeable (pic) **the door panels have a few gashes in them on the edge from the seat belt when closing doors (common on these) **clip to keep hood prop in place is cracked **you definitely hear the road, lots of little pings and rattles and creaks **black duct tape on e-brake handle **missing the cover piece around the rear view mirror in visor area **missing plastics under engine bay and fenders **missing the honda emblem in steering wheel **missing owners manual and any paperwork **missing the cigarette lighter **THIS CAR IS A 1991 MODEL, UNDERSTAND THAT, it is not a new vehicle by any means, there is definite wear and tear, just want to clear up everything on here so everyone understands, and try to list as much as I can possibly think of so you can see I'm not trying to screw anyone. I tried to list EVERYTHING to the best of my knowledge/ability, sorry for any typos if any, and if I remember anything I mightve forgot, I'll add it to the listing. I have 100% positive feedback and plan on keeping it that way... _ _ _ _ _ _ If I was buying this car right now, myself, and had some money to put into it, truthfully, I'd slap on an original old wingswest bodykit, some subtle fenders, headlights and new paint job- subwoofer, dynamat n new carpet inside, oh and a turbo K20 of course?! haha, but it is still ok now, has potential, great first car/commuter/college student, easy to work on, fun to drive, great gas milage.. THANKS FOR LOOKING, GOOD LUCK! - -  @  - please ask any questions you may have, and I will answer asap also, I will be driving this vehicle, not much, few hundred miles most --------------- -------------------- On Jul-08-12 at 12:19:12 PDT, seller added the following information: ****@@@@####%%%%****@@@@####%%%%**** Hello eBayers, There's been many views, and many watchers.. but.. Due to lack of bidding, I just want to make sure you know this car is a great car. It has issues, but it's still a honda crx. a friend and I drove down to redding and back yesterday (almost 5h round trip) and it cruised great. I'm pretty sure it would make it all the way down to key west, then up to ankorage, and then back down here, no joke, it's a honda. and when I say the car is not tight, I mean it doesn't feel new.. it has lots of new parts, and obviously runs and drives fine or I wouldn't be taking it anywhere. I don't want everyone steering away because of my extremely detailed description, I just wanted to disclose everything. don't get the wrong impression, I've seen lots of civics n integras n this is not even close to the worst.. I got this car off my friends girlfriends dad. it was in their family. I've always changed the oil on time, used premium gas only(in any car I've ever owned), the interior is pretty nice n clean actually, the four 5" kicker speakers sound great. this car is awesome as far as I'm concerned, fun and great mpg, I get compliments on it at gas stations n auto parts stores.. really doesn't need anything, but has potential to be extremely dope.. definitely not the last civic I will ever own, but for now, since I don't drive it much, I'd rather put the cash towards something else.. thanks for everyone's interest, good luck! I will have the car cleaned, with tire shine, air freshener, and full tank of gas waiting for the winner.. Current milage as of right now, Sunday 12:20 pm (262,797) GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
