You are viewing a very unusual example of one of the coolest British sports cars ever produced. One of Sir Donalds favorite cars. I know this from personal experience many years ago. The neatest thing about this find, is how I found it. I received a call from a friend, about a one owner Bug Eye, one town away from me, that was up or grabs, and needed to be picked up quickly, due to a quick sale on a piece of real estate. I showed up in the morning with trailer in tow, and cash in my pocket. I was greeted in the driveway by the original owner, who escorted me to the back yard, with a crow bar and hammer in hand. I couldn't help but wonder if I was about to be a victim on the 6 O'clock News. I soon became relieved, as we approached a large wooden box, sitting on a concrete slab. You guessed it, inside was this amazing little car. As the crow bar went into action, I'm standing there, thinking is this really happening. Who does this? The owner acted as though it was something someone does in the normal course of a day, so I went along with it. As the minutes rolled by, I wasn't sure what I would see when we were done, but much to my surprise, out popped this little gem. It was like witnessing a birth of something great, and I guess it was. The first thing I did, was to check to see if the engine turned, and with relief, all I could think of, was how quickly can I get this baby on my trailer. In less than an hour, I was pulling out of the driveway with one of the coolest finds I can ever remember. Have a look at the pictures, and most of all, the close-ups of factory spot welds under original paint. This body is possibly one of the best original bodies left, that hasn't been molested over the years by accidents and bad repairs, or rust, and again with bad repairs. How about one with no history of either. You can leave it alone and have fun with it, the way it is, with all its patina, or restore as you go, and end up with something you could show, with everything correct, including every nut and bolt, with original symbols and markings. Take a look at the rubber mats and original Hardura throughout, and even the factory crayon marking under the Hardura with body number and Trim color for this car. It still has its original top, but rear windows are yellowed, so it should be replaced for safety. It will come to you with its cylinder head completely rebuilt, with hardened seats, and the right valve guides so it can run trouble free on today's pump gas. I have the first issued California pink slip (title) in hand, showing the original issued California Black Plates GEX788 that will stay with the car, and can be transferred to the new owner, and remain registered in CA. with your home state address on the title and registration, and I will do it for you. When it comes to a Bug Eye, you can't start with anything better. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding.
