PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!! For sale is a 1998 Nissan Altima GLE. It has leather seats, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, driver power seat, power steering, power sunroof, remote alarm, and automatic transmission. The 4 cylinder engine overheated a few months ago, and has cracked the exhaust manifold, and coolant is entering the engine combustion chamber. I have not disassembled the engine to find out the extent of the problem. Worst case scenario, it may need a new engine! With over 235000 miles, that would not be a bad idea. I'm just looking to purchase a newer vehicle. I bought the car in 2001 with 80 K miles. The miles that I have put on are highway miles. The transmission has no problem. I replaced the struts, control arms with new control arm bushings ~2 years ago. I replaced the radiator about a year ago. Before I found out that the engine was bad, I had also replaced the water pump. I have not driven the car since installing the new water pump. I also replaced 2 tires on the rear. I may have put about 250 miles on the new tires. The front tires still have tread left. I also recently replaced the outer link connectors for the rack-and-pinnion steering linkage. I drove the car over 150 miles everyday on the interstate, so had to keep it in top shape, and therefore all of the above repairs. The car was hit from behind in a parking lot at low speed couple of years ago, and has a small dent and marks. I changed the engine oil every 3000 miles, transmission fluid every 50000 miles, Power steering fluid every 2 years, and Brake fluid every year. The spark plug wires have a lifetime warranty, and I can provide you with a new set of wires($50~$60) at no charge. Overall, in my opinion you will need a new engine. The car is old and shows wear and tear. There are a few places with repair work on the exterior from previous owner. Paint is in decent condition. The driver seat has tear at two places. The front windshield has a crack running across it since the last 4 years, but vehicle has always passed the North Carolina safety and emission inspection. The rear trunk-lid lock cylinder is bad and won't open the trunk from outside, but it will open from inside by accessing it through the tunnel behind the rear seats. The driver door window switch is missing but you can still operate the window. All other window switches are fine and operate flawlessly. The left front turn signal light housing glass has a small hole, but the light works. The factory radio was old and defective, so it is removed. Radio antenna does not extend or retract, but it catches radio signal. I have just reduced the price by $1000!!! NO WARRANTY!!! CAR SOLD AS IS!!! Cash in Person ONLY! No checks or Money Orders!
