1951 Silver-Anniversary-Edition Pontiac Chieftain Catalina Super Deluxe. This vehicle is in extremely good condition with eye-catching green exterior and white with matching green interior. All gauges are in working order as is the radio (although volume is low). The clock appears to work, but as with many cars of this vintage, does not keep accurate time. The variable-speed vacuum windshield wipers work perfectly. All lights, exterior and interior, are in working order. This special edition has the transparent amber Chief's head as the hood ornament which lights when parking or head lamps are engaged, very unique and quite an eye-catcher! This Chieftain is an automatic straight eight with push-button starter. During the summer of 2011, this Pontiac Chieftain received several mechanical renovations: the engine, transmission, and generator were professionally rebuilt; new water and fuel pumps were installed; and a new front-end suspension kit was installed. This spring, this vintage beauty had professional upholstery renovation on the doors, rear sides, and back deck so as to better match the stunning exterior and interior green of the car. A new battery was installed just prior to this listing. After all of these renovations, the car has been driven less than 500 miles. When not being driven, the Chieftain is always kept in an indoor, climate-controlled garage and is covered with a custom-made car cover from California Car Cover of Beverly Hills.
