Vehicle Detail
1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2, sold new at Brumos Porsche in Atlanta. Reliable, well-maintained Driver level Carrera Fitted from the factory with the Sports Package, which includes the Sport Seats, Sport Suspension, 16" Fuchs Wheels and a Limited Slip Differential. Car is stock, except for the Porsche Factory Short Shifter, and the Momo Steering Wheel/Shift Knob. Michelin Pilot Tires in good condition. I have owned the car for about 6 years. Car had a major (engine-in) service in 2009, to repair several small oil leaks. Head studs and valve guides were checked and found to be OK, valves were adjusted, sunroof was serviced/adjusted, and the sunroof seal was replaced. About 18 months ago, the clutch fork failed. Repair required removal of the engine. During this repair, the clutch and pressure plate were replaced, the CV joints were serviced and the boots replaced. Additionally, a new engine sound pad was installed, and a Stomski Shift Coupler was installed. Synchros were replaced in transmission less than 5000 miles ago, prior to my ownership. Car runs and drives well. Car was painted in the original color about 7 years ago, and is excellent, with just a couple of small chips/dings from normal use. I have found no evidence of rust or rust repair. Interior is good- drivers Sport seat bolsters have typical wear. Dashpad has a skin/cover. Carpets show typical wear expected in a 200,000 mile car. AC compressor and evaporator have been removed, but are included. Odometer is broken, as is pretty common. Car has Hour Meter that was reset in 2006, and reads 70 hours, approximately 3000 miles. Tach works intermittently, seems to work best when driven more often! I am selling this car to gain a slot in my garage. Bidder is welcome to take a look at the car prior to purchase, and I would recommend doing this as I am selling this car as is, where is. This is a 27 year old car with almost 200,000 miles on it. While I feel that this is a great driver, and maybe even a good candidate for DE events, it is NOT a new, modern car (maybe that’s why you are looking at it). My experience with the car, coupled with the work that has been done by an air-cooled Porsche guru with 40 years experience would make me comfortable driving the car anywhere; however, this is no guarantee that the new owner will not experience some minor (or major) issues with the car. Clear North Carolina title provided to the new owner, as well as a few spares including the AC parts, original steering wheel, a couple of service manuals, front compartment original carpeting, a jack plate, and a few more miscellaneous pieces. Original window sticker is included. Winning bidder will make a non-refundable deposit of $1000 via PayPal within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Full payment of the balance to be made in cash or certified check prior to release of the car and or title. I am available to assist your shipper when the car is picked up. E-mail with any questions.
