To view a slideshow of 100 LARGE PHOTOS of this MGB, please click on this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39622340@N05/sets/72157630069193395/show/ **Before bidding, PLEASE READ** Cars2K is listing this car AS-IS. · We are not making warranties as to this car’s fitness or originality. · We simply photographed and described it to the best of our ability. · Pre-bid inspections are welcome. Post bid inspections ARE NOT! · Please respect eBay’s rules for the auction’s stability! Amazingly, after sitting in a barn for nearly 20 years, the car will start and run and would be an excellent candidate for restoration or the race track. This MG will NOT DRIVE and needs restoration. Here is a list of our findings: · Rust in Lower Body Panels · Surface Rust found on Frame & Suspension But Appears Straight & Solid · Complete Interior & Top Upholstery Needed · All Hydraulics Will Need to be Cleaned/Replaced Including Brakes, Clutch & Fuel Intake · Wiring Appears Intact but Was NOT Fully Tested · No Title- Sold on Bill of Sale Only We obtained this MG from a retired surgeon who claims to have had the car stored at his auxiliary property in Corona , CA since the 1980’s. Unfortunately, the Title was lost and CA DMV no longer has the VIN or Plate # in their system. No big deal, as CA DMV will issue a new Title upon completion of a Verification of Vehicle form and application for new Title. For the time being however, the car is being sold with a Bill of Sale only. So here it is, offered for the first time on eBay with NO RESERVE PRICE! There is some rust along the lower body panels (lots of detailed photos of this) but all remaining panels and frame appear 100% solid with only moderate surface rust in some areas but a good sand-blasting and rust-prohibiting primer should do the job. Moss Motors (.com) makes replacement body panels for all the rusted areas you see here for a very reasonable price. Currently in dry storage, the car rolls and steers freely and the parking brake does work. Please carefully examine the photos provided on the above link. If you can get through them, there shouldn’t be any mystery as to this MG’s physical and cosmetic condition. As for mechanical: The original gas tank and fuel lines will need to be cleaned or replaced and new batteries installed before the car will run on its own. With a fuel line connected from an auxiliary fuel source and a battery pack connected to the starter/ignition, the engine will start and run. We ran the engine long enough (about a minute) to determine that there were no unusual noises, smoke or major issues found. We did have to disconnect the belt to the water pump as it appears to be frozen. The clutch pedal is in-op because no fluid is in the system but the transmission can easily be shifted into all forward and reverse gears and the car moves freely when in reverse. Other than that, the mechanics are unknown. At minimum, after sitting this many years, the entire brake and clutch hydraulics, fuel/intake, cooling system and some wiring will need to be gone through in order to drive. Please bid accordingly. Also included is a box of parts (see photo) which includes the original air filter assembly, the rear battery cover and a few other odds and ends. What you see in the photos is what you get…nothing more and nothing less. If you are not a seasoned collector, mechanic or have access to one, please make sure you know what you’re getting into. It is our goal that this classic car finds a great new home with someone who is informed and prepared for such a project. The car is presently at Britalia Import Auto Service in Fullerton, CA. They are highly regarded among MG clubs across the country as the best and most reasonably priced British mechanics around. To schedule an inspection or speak with them about repairing any portion or performing a full restoration on this fine candidate, please call Heig at (714) 879-7531. Finally, we welcome your questions and comments. Anything of importance (good or bad) will be posted at the bottom in the Q & A. Currently, we have a Bill of Sale only, NO TITLE. Local sales tax and DMV transfer fees apply to residents in CA. No CA Smog Certificate is required to complete Title transfer here in CA as 1969 year model vehicles are exempt from smog. All questions must be answered and all inspections must be completed PRIOR TO BIDDING. This MG is being sold in AS-IS CONDITION and comes with absolutely NO WARRANTIES EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. The miles displayed on the speedometer are not accurate. We are proud to have a 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK score. Bid with confidence, knowing everything represented in this auction is accurate. BIDDERS WITH ZERO OR NEGETIVE FEEDBACK MUST EMAIL US FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO BIDDING OR THEIR BID WILL BE CANCELED. This MG’s present condition and buying terms have been described as accurately as possible. If you have ANY questions or want to bring a mechanic to inspect, please email us PRIOR TO BIDDING. You will receive a prompt response. What a great opportunity to purchase a surviving example of the classic, chrome bumper MGB. With No Reserve it is sure to be an outstanding investment for the winning bidder and once restored, a joy to drive for many years to come. Thank you, good luck and Happy Bidding!
