Up for your consideration is a very clean (considering it's 25 years old) Volvo V740 GLE. We bought the car from my Brother in Law in 2010 for my son to drive to school. We knew the transmission was a little edgy when we bought it. Had the car and transmission serviced and drove it for over a year before the transmission finally gave it up. The car ran and drove great. No shakes or shimmies in the suspension. Brakes, etc seemed fine as well. Sunroof actually still works and doesn't leak!Paint it almost pristine considering the age. It has a few minor rock dings here and there and only one small spot of actual damage near the passenger side parking light (see photo). Seats are very good considering they are leather and 25 years old. A few splits at the seams that can be easily sewn up and pretty typical worn spot on the drivers seat bolster. Goodyear tires with 75% or so of the tread left too. There are some marred places in the soft vinyl on the doors (see the photos) I found a numerous used trannies online, some with only 100k miles or so for only $400 - $500, shipping included, with a 1 year warranty. But, I really don't need the car any longer, as we bought my son a newer Volvo S80 last year, and this one would basically be a "spare" now. But the car will not move under it's own power due to the transmission.
