99 toyota Tacoma 4x4 74k 2.7 5 speed project fix or for parts. This truck only has 74k miles on it but it has had a very rough life. This truck was totaled in 2002. The previous owner purchased a new cab, bed, and the rest of the parts to fix the truck but never got around to doing the work. It sat in his garage 2002 until 2007 when He sold it to a local car dealer. they switched all of the parts over, painted it and had the truck inspected. I bought it from them in winter 2008 with 62,000 miles. I had the vehicle for 12days before I slid on some ice on a bridge and hit a guardrail with the driver side front which resulted in the truck being totaled a 2nd time I paid off my loan so that i could keep the truck Then had it switched to a salvage title. Before having the title switched to salvage I used the truck not only to drive daily but I also used it to go camping and haul firewood. manual lock hubs. I figured the truck would need a full paint job after the front end was fixed so I wasn't worried about the scratches from the woods, unfortunately I added several more dents than I would have liked so it will need bodywork. No rust repair needed just dents pulled and probably a radiator support etc. A few years ago it wouldn't start and A friend of mine fixed a problem in the dash wiring( bad connection at one of the plugs) and it ran fine up until last fall when it did the same thing while i was hauling firewood. i havent been able to get him to come over and repair the problem again and i dont know much about wiring so the truck has been sitting since last fall.i took the dash out in anticipation of my friend fixing the wiring so it will need put back together also.The truck will need bodywork, the under dash wiring looked at and then inspected . I considered buying an 03 style radiator support/front clip instead of the 99 style but I have classic cars that I would rather work on. If you understand wiring and know how to do bodywork this could be a great truck after you get it inspected. These tacomas are worth a bunch of cash already but with 74k someone could make a lot of money fixing it and reselling it, using it for parts, or you could just build an off road vehicle out of it and not worry about the inspection either way.truck is sold as is where is with a salvage title in non running condition due to electrical issue. i encourage potential bidders to come check out the truck! please dont bid if you do not have money or dont intend to pay.
