1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible Rebuilt 1600 cc engine Excellent Mechanical Condition Karmann Convertible Time for wind in your hair summer FUN! Here it is folks, the summer cruiser of your dreams! This is a solid old VW Super Beetle Convertible. We've had the pleasure of cruising in this Cutie the last few summers and she's never let us down & provided tons of enjoyment!! The pictures kind of say it all on this one. It's not a show car, but it is a SURVIVOR that has made it through the last four decades in nice solid shape. The previous owner told me that the owner before him had some aspirations to make this into a racer of some sort. He started by putting a close throw shifter in and a four wheel disc brake upgrade. Then he lost interest and the last owner bought it. He had the engine and transmission completely gone through, and I know for certain that the engine had a complete rebuild 4 years ago. (probably figure on less than 10,000 miles on the rebuild!) This car runs out great. It has never let me down, and it starts great every time. I have had it serviced regularly and mechanically it needs nothing. The tires have weathering, and while they probably would be fine for around town slow speed cruising, I would recommend new ones all around. The speedometer and all guages in the instrument panel work great. The odometer stopped turning sometime before I bought it. It is exempt from odometer records on the title anyway. All lights and electronics work great on this car. The JVC CD player is loud and super fun to blast the BeeGee's in while cruising! (just ask my wife!) 3 windows will need to be installed--I just never got around to it, but all the glass you'll need is included. They are: Driver's door window and vent window, and passenger door window. They are all genuine VW glass pieces except for the main driver's door window. I had that custom cut at a glass plant. If you're handy with VW's this won't take you long. The top is in good shape. I see no problems with it and I think it will be good for years to come. Seats are solid with a couple pea sized repairs where the fabric has been sewed. Questions? Send them my way through the eBay Message System.
