Vehicle Detail
Austin Healey 100-4 BN1 VIN # BN1L154716 ENGINE # 1B/207362 BODY # 2861 BUILD DATE: 13 APRIL 1954 ORIGINAL COLOURS: EXTERIOR BLACK / INTERIOR RED WIRE WHEEL CAR BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY HERITAGE TRUST FACTORY RECORD INCLUDED 2005 / 5601 Up for auction is a project 54 Healey 100-4. I purchased the car a few yrs ago and have since disassembled to the basic chassis assembly. It was imported into Canada from Texas. I need the room and some toys gotta go. Need the cash for a GT40 project in the shop. Okay for what’s wrong…. Missing the following items : Side screens / Grill bars / glass for windshield / fuel tank / needs a pan / exhaust / misc nuts bolts and items required to complete assy { Re: Hardware } Car overall is not bad for the typical Healey problems. We have stripped the car down so everything is in boxes or loose. The rockers have been removed and need to be repaired and welded back in with the new AUTOFARM supplied sheetmetal [ these pcs. included see below ]. Boot floor had a bit of corrosion so I also purchased a new floor from AUTOFARM as well { included } Original boot is in not too bad of shape and still in car. Main floors are okay { minor surface rust } rails are excellent and other structure is descent. Winged sheetmetal section ahead of door will require a flat section to be put in while doing the rocker sections again quite typical for Healey restorations Shrouds overall are descent / flanges descent / lwr front has typical dings for a restoration. Shrouds have been stripped clean inside / out Doors are good even the bottoms!! Fenders: 4 front fenders included - 2 excellent – other 2 have lwr corrosion. 2 rear fenders descent but front lwr legs will need attention. 1 new patch panel included Hood – lemans style but in steel not aluminum. It is correct in looks to the lemans style Trunk lid – descent – little rust on one flange- easily repaired Steering / suspension / rear axle etc is removed from car. Whats good Rebuilt engine / rebuilt transmission / Windshield frame good / bumpers / Lots of chrome pieces plus extras / New dark blue carpet kit in box / $323.91 spent on sheetmetal from AUTOFARM –OUTERSILLS / INNER SILLS / INTERMEDIATE SILLS / BOOT FLOOR all correct for car and brand new! Ready for install receipts included. Rebuilt gauges from Nisonger with paperwork { safety gauge purchased separately .. looks to be okay. Condition? } New seat bases from Oxford Classic Cars. Need seat backs / engine exhaust manifold included / I do have an old exhaust tube / muffler but usually new is usually purchased anyways. Carburetors included { need rebuild } have intake manifold / wiring harness / new rubber seals in boxes / trim parts / generator / starter / 4 good drums in box / knock off pins / original steel wire wheels / dash is good / lots of spares and parts in bags / cockpit aluminum surround pcs x 3 / new rear tailight lenses and trim rings / front rings / grill surround / trunk hinges / badging / too much to list. Overall a real nice restoration project for someone wanting a 100-4 Will try to take and include as much as I can in the pics but email me for more I have on file of all items and can take others during the auction and email to everyone out there. I have approx. 100 pics of the car during disassembly that I can include Email with all questions you may have. I typically respond within a few hrs Car is located approx. 1.5 hrs from Port Huron / Sarnia on Lake Huron shoreline and is north of London Ontario off HWY #4 in Ont Canada so USA bidders in Michigan or Ohio I am not far from the border. I am approx 3.5hrs from Buffalo. Car can be stored until arrangements made for pickup. No rush / no extra charges / It is safe and dry at my home / You will require truck / trailer. I can also assist in loading and will have an engine hoist available. Auction will not be ended early so if you want the car you know what to do. These Healeys are getting rare especially for being a 1954 BN1 model. Hate to see it go but need the room and funding for my GT40 kit. On May-31-12 at 18:26:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the emails and inquiries. Just to let everyone know.. The auction will not end early and I will not sell before close. Higgest bidder who meets or passes the reserve will be taking home the Healey.. Sorry....And yes I am more than willing to hold the car till arrangements can be made for pickup. No worries as long as we are clear on the date / time etc. I am basically off for the summer from teaching so very flexible on meeting time etc. No rush...All I ask is that the paypal payment of the 1K is made at close of auction within timeline stated. As for the overseas inquiries.. Yes I am willing to ship overseas as well { Worldwide } buyer will be responsible however for all crating / transportation to the logistics company we use in Toronto Canada Keep on bidding. and Good Luck!!On Jun-02-12 at 13:48:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello all. I want to further mention. Just looked at the brand new boot floor going with the car and now looking at the original that the outer section of the floor would require replacement anyway. No worries you are getting a new boot / trunk floor from AUTOFARM with the car anyhow but thought I should mention. If anyone wants pics of the chassis I can email them as well as the doors. Again doors are in excellent shape. On Jun-02-12 at 14:22:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Added last pic to album of the chassis { front view } with Eastwood black encapsulator. This was done after blasting. Most of chassis has been done to this extent except areas of rockers and inner wings and inner fender wells. These are all good though. On Jun-02-12 at 14:38:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Bidders / Potential bidders !! Send me an email and I will send you more pics of the basic chassis. I took a bunch this afternoon and can email them out if you send me an email. Just added my 24th pic and I am only able to upload this many for the auction. So shoot me an email so I can fwd these on to you.On Jun-02-12 at 18:45:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Not sure if this matters to USA bidders??? Maybe you can shed light and let me know... I also have the original TX.. ownership from when I bought the car. So this may be a good thing for USA bidders!! I also have proof from customs of importation into Canada and date of purchase etc etc with EBAY receipt etc. All paperwork I have will go with the car for its records. This would be good for USA bidders due to the fact it is technically still a USA car. Plus I also have the records of the owner prior to the owner I bought it from. So a good history will come with this Healey. And as mentioned I also have the BMHC Certificate for its build info RESERVE HAS BEEN MET. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!! Again email if you want further pics and detailed shots of the chassis. On Jun-05-12 at 07:55:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Need to add a correction to the above. I stated ownership from TX. I am incorrect it is a licensing issuance for I was looking at for registration. Not sure if it is the same thing.?? I do not believe it is a factor however for importing a 54 car project. Even if you don't have the VIN it should be no issue So just to be clear all original paperwork that I have will go with the car including the BMHC certificate copy The CHASSIS TAG is still intact and on the car. Could someone please email from the USA TO STATE HOW THIS WORKS??? Again there should be no worries since this is a project car from 54 with a VIN and the BMHC that go with it. Kinda how KIT CARS work Please shed some light on the matter so I can post in the auction... I will do my research as well and post ASAPOn Jun-05-12 at 08:45:53 PDT, seller added the following information: To all bidders I have found this. from the website foreignborn email me for link if wanting put in the w's and com Re-Importing A Previously Exported VehicleA vehicle taken from the United States for non-commercial, private use may be returned duty free by proving to U.S. Customs that it was previously owned and registered in the United States. This proof may be a state-issued registration card for the automobile or a bill of sale for the car from a U.S. dealer. Repairs or accessories acquired abroad for your vehicle must be declared on your return and may be subject to duty. I can go better than this and provide the importation paperwork that I received coming into Canada I have a registration tag / Bills of sale from a commercial vendor that I bought the car from and as well the original ebay sales info printed out when I bought the car. Should be covered...On Jun-05-12 at 08:58:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry yes I do have a registration tag. Its a licensing registration tag. We don't have these in Canada we call them ownerships even for older cars So yes there is a - VIN- Body tag- Original Bill of sale [ Commercial } I obtained from USA- My original importation work from Customs into Canada- Original purchase paperwork from EBAY from my purchase This should answer all questions. Thanks for the info on importing into the USA!
