Vehicle Detail
Note that this vehicle is for parts or repair. It broke down yesterday, 5/28/2012. As you can see from the photo of the registration sticker that I recently renewed through 6/2014, I was not planning to sell this car but it broke down and had to be towed. The tow truck operator was then able to start it and the car was at that point able to move by itself some distance on the parking lot to its spot. I don't want to try starting it now for the fear of causing damage.I am not a mechanic and do not claim to know the exact or approximate nature of the breakdown. If I had to guess, I would say it had to do with a belt in the engine. Also, upon the breakdown there was smoke or steam coming out from the hood, something greenish leaking from under the hood, the a/c stopped blowing cold air, the power steering went out (the wheel became hard to turn), several red signs lit up on the gauge display. Some parts that have been recently installed and work that has been recently done on this car are: - Two head light bulbs installed in May of 2012 - New driver side fog light installed in April of 2012 - A/C was recharged in April of 2012 - Two new hood struts installed in April of 2012 - Four new tires installed on 2/28/12. The tires are Pirelli P6 Four Seasons Plus, I spent more than $500 on them. - Removal, cleaning and installation of oil pan, oil pressure switch, PCV hose, PCV valve, dip stick in February of 2012 - New OES neutral safety switch in March of 2011. I spent more than $250 on the part. - New OES ignition switch in November of 2010. I spent more than $130 on the part. .I have had this car for close to two years and I tried to take good care of it. However, due partly to its age and mileage it had some issues even prior to the breakdown. The issues that come to mind are: - Most of the pixels on the Saab Information Display are bad - SID shows some warning messages that I cannot read well due to bad pixels - Hand brake does not work - Rear speakers do not work - A small sector of the speedometer is dark (not illuminated by light bulbs) - The car vibrates slightly when stationary and in gear. Well, it vibrated before the breakdown. Now, I don't want to start it for the fear of causing any damage. - There was some liquid (water?) pooling on the floor in front of passenger seats after the rain. I am not a mechanic but I taped up the sunroof in case it is some clogged drains from the sunroof. Unfortunately, it has not rained after I taped up the sunroof and before the breakdown, so I don't know if taping up the sunroof fixed the problem. I would be more than happy to answer to the best of my ability any questions from serious potential bidders. Also, I can provide additional pictures on request. Please note that I provide absolutely no warranty of any kind. I have tried to provide the best description that I can but I am not a professional and cannot be held responsible for its correctness, accuracy, or being free of errors of omission or commission.
