1985 Volkswagon Golf hatchback, DIESEL with a 5 speed manual trans. NO RESERVE Hate to see it go but I just don't have the time to mess with it. I bought this car off a neighboring farmer last year and he had the same problem I have. TIME!!!! I own an excavating company that I run out of my farm and it was a mild winter so we worked and there the car sat in the shop untouched. The VW does run and is drivable but it has some fuel issues. We used it this spring to jockey equipment back and forth to the fields and it never missed a lick. The issue is getting it started. There are two check valves there are in fuel lines and I'm convinced they need to be replaced. The system looses pressure and air locks if you let it sit a bit. In other words its a two man job to get it started. The car is by no means a race horse but it gets you back and forth at 40mpg plus. My plans were to put all new fuel lines and check valves in the car and the new injectors. The Valve cover gasket leaks and I wasn't going to bother changing it because I was going to have the valves adjusted on it. The car drives excellent and very true. The tires are almost new and the reciepts are all included. Body wise the car is in excellent shape for a 1985. There are some very very minor surface rust spots here and there but nothing in need of repair. The car does have some minor hail damage but nothing thats super noticable in my book. The paint is all orginal as well as the interior. You can tell the car has been taken care of over the years and not abused. The car is a 1985 so don't expect it to be perfect. The interior is in good shape. It could use a good steam cleaning but overall not too bad. The dash is in excellent shape and everything works. The drivers seat is showing some wear right wear you slide into it on the side. The passenger seat is just a bit dirty. The rear seat is like new. The carpets are in great condition. The brakes are excellent, The trans works great and the clutch is strong. The drivers side tail light lens managed to get broken the other day so it will need to be replaced. The front window does have a hair line crack in it as well. I can get the car running but I would plan on trailering it home. Its farthest trip has been 2 miles away from the farm on back roads. It runs good but not that good hence the new injectors I bought for it. Any questions please feel free to ask.....
