You are looking at my 1974 VW Beetle. It has 111,300 miles on the title issued 8-13-2010 however the car only has 110995 miles. I was told it was an error the owner made registering the car . They accidently wrote 111,300 instead of 110,300....Car needs to be driven 305 miles for odometer to be correct to title again. I just want to be clear on this. The engine runs great,sounds great & looks nice & dry with many new parts on it! I dont know if this is how its suppose to be but the car is push button start? It has a key that must be turned forward before hitting button will start the car. It has manual transmission which shifts great. Clutch feels great with no slippage or chatter. I had it up to 65 mph on the highway & it felt GREAT! The exterior looks great however is far from perfect. There are some rust bubbles popping above the rear fenders but really unnoticable from a few feet away. The front bumper is uneven in front & feels flimsy honestly but im guessing thats because it has an older bumper on it? The back bumper is not on the car however I have a bumper for it which is in great condition & looks to match the front bumper for a more nostalgic look. In addition the the front bumper I have a slew of other items that come with the car inclusing a few repair manuals, parts books & of course Herbie the love bug DVD! :-) There is a whole bin of parts like door handles,gaskets,tail lights, trunk & hood handles,headlights, right sife floor pan (I am not shipping it pick up only) & more....The floors & undercarriage seem solid however the passenger side is not perfect & eventually should be changed. Tires have lots of tread on them however ther is some dry rot in the treads.Honestly besides the dry rot they look NEW! The interior is decent...If I was keeping it I would spend some money & restore it. The headliner is peeling a little in back, the seats kinda wiggle in the tracks, The stereo is not wired. It definetly will need a new radio & I dont see an antenna? Though its not perfect its still cool just like the outside...I own a few really nice cars & never got so much posative attention from a car...people were beeping,waving yelling HERBIE! If the car doesnt reach my reserve ill probably keep it & fix it up! :-) I have a stack of reciepts that come with the car! The most recent was from 6-16-2011 with 110,700 miles on it. The reciept is for over $1500! Here are some of the things done less then 300 miles ago! Replace all brake shoes,hoses,master cyl & switches & seals, replace wheel bearings, replace fuel pump & fuel pump rod,ajust carb,Replace points set, replace distributer cap,remove valve covers & replace gasket & ajust valves,replace speedo cable,repair horn,replace steering wheel,compression test 100-135lbs, replace spark plugs... I got this car from a guy who needed the $ to paint his Trans Am so he decided to give up his Herbie Prodject. There was alot of $ invested into this car...Its far from perfect but let me tell you its one cool car! I hope someone gets to enjoy Herbie! I tried my best to describe the car as best I can. Though its not perfect it still gets alot of attention! Whoever wins this car is gonna fall in love with it 4 sure! My son is mad at me for selling Herbie & I can honestly say im gonna miss him 2.
