For your consideration, here's a 1957 English Ford Gasser project. This is an old drag car I brought up from Austin TX, but I dont have any racing history on the car. The car had originally been run with a VW front axle and reinforced original subframe, but it was not safe, so I cut all the unibody away and built a 2x4 box tubing chassis. There is a new 44" wide Speedway Motors straight axle, with Chevy disc brakes, a QA1 coilover spring setup with new ladder bars and panhard rod. The sheetmetal is all in good condition with any rusty areas cut away and repaired with metal. The doors close and latch properly, and the trunk fits as it should. The hood is in excellent condition, the cowl is cut away at the base of the windshield to accommodate a high rise intake or tunnel ram. I have a grill section, but it is very rough and will need the mounting edges replaced. All the glass is Lexan, and should be replaced due to cracks and scratches, but what is there is good as templates.The rear axle is an S10 10-bolt with 4:11 gears open carrier. The front wheels are Rader-style flat spoke mags from the '60s and the rear 15x7 chrome reverse wheels are useable.The difficult fabrication is done, all that is needed is to install a steering column, drop in a driveline, seats and roll bar, and you'll be able to take it to the nostalgia drags.
